Poor choice for the P1 class name. It is misleading an already confused fan base. "Extreme" denotes the highest or in this case fastest. Extreme has been used as a general description for the turbine and unlimited piston classes for years so why regurgitate the adjective used to describe an already defined class?
ex·treme (k-strm) adj. 1. Most remote in any direction; outermost or farthest: the extreme edge of the field. 2. Being in or attaining the greatest or highest degree; very intense: extreme pleasure; extreme pain. 3. Extending far beyond the norm: an extreme conservative. See Synonyms at excessive. 4. Of the greatest severity; drastic: took extreme measures to conserve fuel. |
With a week to go before KW the class is shaping up. Looks like it might be one of the bigger classes this yr. Look for some deck to deck racing with some exciting fan favorites fighting it out.

It doesn't matter to me what they call the class.
All I know is it combined 3 classes and now there are already 10 RACE BOATS registered for Key West in the class!! Superboat class is also going to have their biggest class in a long time!! Congrats to you guys!!!! Looks like know one can come to Key West and race by themselves and call themselves World Champions. I like more competitive boats in the class which is the direction they are trying to take but I know it will piss off plenty of so called racers that prefer titles running around in circles by themselves. |
so will this be streamed live anywhere?
