max boost on 502 mag efi??
What is the max boost that can be applied to a stock 502 Mag Mpi before head gasket or rotating assembly failure is a risk? Per say from a M1 procharger???

curious to read answers... I would think the blue motors are stronger, able to withstand 5, maybe 7 psi, but black motor... would compare them more to the 525 sc wich were 454 with a 3 psi blower... so I would think 3 pounds of boost ???
But I,m not an engine guy... just general knowledge on internet... |
I have a 502 mpi on 5 lbs tuned by mark at precision marine and its super safe and reliable on 5 lbs and ita good for 91 octane on stock injectors. So its def more than 5 im thinking 7 to 10 lb with over sized i.injectors. im just wondering what people have maxed them out at???

I run 5lbs on mine.

Run the boost up one pound at a time. When the motor blows back it down one pound

On a serious note. This is what i have in mind. Stock engine. Aftermarked head gaskets. ARP head studs. Bigger valve springs. Bigger injectors. And a 7 to 10 lb pully. And haul the boat down to Eddie Young and have him dyno it and put a custom tune in the ECM

What type of gains are being seen with the safe 5 psi?
