After some testing with a friend, doesn't it and would this not help tech with the class left that has EFI technology in it help ?

Yes the data logger will work with any type of motor. All you need is power ground and signal from the tach. Once testing is finished and data is collected SBI will make a decision if the Race Pak logger is the one they r going to use. It will be used is the Superboat, Superboat Extreme, and SuperVee classes some testing was done in KW this past yr.

When will the decision be made which data logger will me used ? Are you talking this season? I tested with one from a drag racer friend and have sent it back to him.

Yes it will be for this yr. not sure when but should be soon. SBI has worked out a great price and tech support at few races this season. Thats if we go with race pak.

Had a conversation with Ritchie yesterday, Let Mark or I Know as soon if SBI comes up with or not with a deal we don't want it for there reasons. After testing i have other reason. Thanks

Its very cool, tons of info. slip excel, rpms, speed, and so much more. I txt Mark on 2/4/2014 and never heard back so I thought he wasnt interested. But I will keep u updated, or SBI will send out an email.

Open question here, is SBI wanting to implement data loggers specifically to monitor RPM/ Rev Limiters for these classes or are there other reasons beyond? Thanks

The data loggers will also be a great tool for the teams during test to great valuable data that is very important.

I agree 100%. Worked with data aquisition systems for years in other motorsports... best tool out there.

Where is the best place to keep up to date on the status of this with SBI? First I've heard about the possible rules change.

I'll post when the rule book is updated and everything is finalized. Its alot to process, SBI wants to make sure they chose the correct unit for its need. User friendly..... for teams and techs is Important.

Most teams will have there data loggers shipped in time for Cocoa so they can test with them and make sure theyare working properly before Sarasoat.

I spoke to the guy from, Race Pak, a few weeks ago, he took all my info, address, cc#, said that it would go right out and have never gotten it or heard anything else.....

Are you all getting a promo directly from RacePak ? You can usually get em from regular mail order like Jegs etc. I know no one will probably use it, but if your driver punches a button at the Start Finish line, the thing will count laps for you. Think of the fuel savings from guys not running an extra lap or two, or three.

Race Pak is doing packages per boat for SBI's requirements. At, what seems, a very fair price....

I just spoke to Roger at Race Pak and he apologized for the delay. They have to program each unit for some specs SBI needed. He said they will all be going out today or tomorrow.
