Inspectors prefer a mounted VHF but they have let people slide w/ a hand held. The bright yellow engine hatch will help if you loose it while racing or if you have the hatch up w/ a problem. As far as bolsters or seats go , they need to be securely fastened and have sufficient padding. Hope this helps you guys - BH
