The first try to disqualify the team from New Jersey did not work. But APBA officials find yet another issue.

Oh no!

Team Typhoon is penalized with one lap for missing a buoy. It happened while Randy and Glen were dunked by a boat twice as large and twice as fast as theirs. Randy and Glen had momentarily lost power, which did cost them first place.

And now, that buoy costs them the race.

The new results are:

First: F1-90 H2O Motorsports
Second: F1-10 High Energy
Third: F1-1 Activator

Thank you, that was great.

Well, at the time of this typing (Sunday morning) the APBA-site http://www.apba-offshore.com/news.cf...67&Action=view still shows F1-29 as second. Maybe I had too much sun. Or maybe they reconsidered.

By the way: If I’ve understood the new APBA rules correctly, then the last place in Daytona should only be a minor irritation for F1-29. The worst result in the Pro-Series can now be wiped out by taking part in a minor venue. So if Typhoon is last in Daytona and is first at the Podunk State Fair & Powerboat Races, then it’s as if they’ve won in Daytona. According to APBA, everybody wins with that rule: The lesser venues get the big names, and the big names get a chance to beautify their record.

Yeah. And the really nice part is one can tour the races in the sticks until one has the coveted first place. This rule will provide for top talent touring the boonies.

Bertell that was one of the best pre/post race views anyone has ever done. Thanks and keep up the good work everyone loves pics.

TYPHOON 04-15-2003 09:43 PM

Peconic 04-15-2003 11:07 PM

I will be a some races, as time allows.
I have my own camera.
Pace boat? No thanks. I prefer to be close to the real action.

Thanks for the kudos, Mad Dog.

OffshoreOnly 04-16-2003 08:27 AM

Close to the real action, how do you get closer to the real action than in the pace boat?

I want to be THAT close, and still work with a short lens. With Glenn & Randy in attendance, my chances of getting beaten up are manageable.

I like to do the human side of the story, the technical side appears to be well covered. If the pace boat gets me closer to the human side, great.

I won't be able to make Marathon, but I'm shooting for Savannah. That should be interesting.

BODYSHOT1 04-16-2003 12:02 PM

DPT MOTORSPORTS 05-08-2003 07:32 PM

Augie,

You got me rolling on the floor with this Salami and Mozzarella fight deal. Some how I can actually picture it. That's scarey!!!

DPT

Offshore Addiction 05-09-2003 09:33 AM

Paint ball Guns- Noooo- too much of a risk - paint on a boat- ouch!!!

Salami and Mozzarelle- hummm....

I don't think we can get Propco again, they may be watching out for us to pull something on them again.... "We're from the south, we're gullible" That's a classic line from them that we will never forget....

AugiePensa 05-09-2003 10:41 AM

Offshore Addiction, stop by The Jersey Boyz and we'll have a good old fashioned Italian Salami and Mozz free for all. Dennis......we'll make it a reality next weekend!!!!!!!!!!Watch out.....the salami is NOT sliced!!!!!!!!!!!!!
