Hey guys,
Why anybody even post a thing to this guy...makes no sence. let him bash anything he want's, with no response to him really shows how smart he is.....and when he's ready to have a conversation about the sport than we can voice what we have to say. But right now he's just being a smartass.

Frank,
As for the negitive remarks. Everybody has there thing about racing, and I think that is going to a good race venue with a good turnout, good sponsors, and put on a show for a large crowd. That's not going to happen with 18 boats. and no sponsor wants to see 1 or 2 boats in a class..thats reality. We are trying to get you to come to APBA along with other boats to have a consistent 100 boat turn out. We are looking to make something with this sport and we have an oppertunity to do that and make some money. This is what is good about APBA if your in it for the fun of racing and a party weekend P class is great beacuse your racing aginst 5,6,7 other boats and your putting on a show with a $200 entry fee and not alot of expence. And for the PRO classes for the guys that are in it for the money and the compitition with a bigger expence and go after big sponsors..but to do that the organization has to be professional and have a good reputation.
We all know there are problems with both sides and there will always will be but without the racers you have nothing. I've race SBI 1 time and I respect John but when there are guys trashed in the drivers meeting and seeing what I seen at that race I would have lost my sponsors. And with that reputation out there for this sport dose nobody good if there is cheating no policeing of the rules and bad turnouts from what I seen. If you have not noticed APBA has been listening to us when we have had problems with at least in F1. But remeber for what ever reason you went to SBI we in F1 would listen to why. I hope you come to Savannah and the best of luck in SBI but we all want this sport to grow and to do that the racers must stay together threw thick and thin.
Good Luck

Gino,

Thanks for the input, sounds like you guys are on the right track to better the sport. I have to finish out the year with SBI,the schuedel works for me,and I've committed to John to stay with SBI atleast for this year.I have issues with APBA but now isnt the time or place. If things change possible we will all be racing together again.I'm working on a new program for next year.I'll see where the boat fits best next year. I know you guys are really tring hard but I dont see the sponsors knocking down any doors in APBA,or SBI to pick up any teams.
I think its noble what you are tring to do,but year after year for the last 15 years I've heard the same thing, and I dont think it will never change. Offshore Racing is what it is and only that,I dont think it will ever be more.So as long as I do it as a sport,I try to have as much fun as I can,my crew is one of the best in the bussiness and our equipment is the best money can buy. If and when things change we will be ready. Believe me not that I'm complaining I've meet some great people over the years, and raced againts some of the greatest team and have enjoyed ever min. of it.So if it changes and changes for the better that great and if not, that ok also I'll keep doing what I love doing RACE..and it really doesnt matter what banner it is under....

Frank,
I disagree, the sport under the APBA LLC has changed for the better in my opinion due the competition based rules formula.
What is the appeal of "Manufacturers" class racing in SBI.......no rules....no boats=no competition. What fun is "racing" by yourself?

xtremeracingf1 06-12-2003 05:10 AM

Waterboy,

If it has changed for the better then why did we have 14-18 F1 boat 3 years ago when I raced APBA down to 5-6 boats now,and same with F2? Something has changed, and I'm not even sure myself why. We've lots alot of very good teams... Scarab,Formula,
Elimanator,Pantera,Baja, (3) Phantoms (4) Fountains....
Its not about APBA or SBI these boats are just not interested in racing F1 any longer WHY? There are some very good F1 boats forsale, you cant give them away WHY? Again I dont have the anwser all I'm saying is that the interests in F1-F2 class isnt what it was. So I'm not sure what you see what has made it so much better, and if that was the case wouldnt we have a bigger fleet instead of a hand full of boats.Gino has been braking his butt to get the F1 boats to come out and race, even offering sponsor money and still cant get them. You need to look at F1 class as a whole not APBA or SBI they are just not coming out to race. I've even spoke to manufactors and we arent even getting any interests from anyone to build new F1 boats like they did years ago...WHY? I guess its just one of those things that make you go hhhhmmmmmmmmm....
