i think hes running TB IV

The Merc ignitions are usually pretty good!!
But......I along with a few of my boating associates up here in the Nort Est have had great success with the DUI system. 53000 votes of eltricity flown to the plugs!!!!! You can taylor your igniton curve very easily, run .055 plug gap for max ignition & the best part is the whole system is self contained with two wires to it. Well... you could have four more wires if you wimp out and add the rev limiter :D I have run the mercs, the MSD and will stick with the DUI. Oh, I almost forgot to add you can color co-ordinate so it will look pretty too! |
Hey Bruce, sorry to read about your troubles in Mill.but that happens when you race anything. The thing that gets me is the DQ.Since the Doc wont let me race yet,I been doing a lot of playing with Vixen and testing my new Gaff GPS against two hand helds.I have yet to get all three to agree at the same time.another thing that bothers me is if i am running south at 5200 i may be getting 69 mph but when i come back north i may run 72 at the same 5200 rpm.now that would get me a DQ.Now you call that racing? I call it OFFSHORE B.S.Now the way they explained it after Marathon I guess youll be in P4 now.Well we will see you in Sarasota even thou we wont get to race against you.

Hey Mel..hope your feeling better.
Im not sure what they will do for Sarasota. if they bump me up, so be it. I understand your point about running north 2 or three mph faster or slower, maybe as much as 10 depending on wind and current. The way I understand the rule, your speed in absolute best conditions cannot exceed 69.9 and if you do, and you get caught, which we did, you get Dq'd. Period. So, I either prove to them that I some how slowed the boat up to stay in P-5 or beef up to the next class. Look forward to seeing you all. Maybe we will have time for a drink. See ya soon |
Had a great time with all!;) Maybe next time we will get them.

Mel: Those South & North differences are old hat, GPS measures Speed Over Ground. And if the current is going your way, then you are much faster one way than the other. (I use that sometimes to flummox my friends: When going for bragging rights, always go with the tide ...)
GPS speed precision: What the GPS tells you should be taken with a grain of salt. The precision depends on many factors, such as the quality of the instrument, and the constellation of satellites. What's more, speed is being averaged over a time window, sometimes a minute, sometimes less. Given the above, taking GPS data as the holy writ and DQing Bruce for 70.1 sounds like chickenchit to me. Where do you get ticketed for going 55.1 ? |
Thanks Bertel...
I guess I would be really upset if we actually won and were Dq'd for 70.1. But as they say " there is no fudge factor" break out of your speed and you get DQ'd. |
Your a stand up guy Bruce.
|
Well, I guess they can say they have to draw trhe line somewhere. But must they draw it right here ...?
Bruce, we'll see you at the Point - home of no chickenchit racing. I owe you a beverage of your choice at the Crystal Palace. I'll be at the Point on time this time to partake in the customary pit festivities.... Kirk will be late, he has a lot of work on his hands. |
see you then
