Jersey Boyz: Grab The World Championship Title !!!!

Boyz: New APBA rulez posted at

http://www.apbaoffshore.com/rules.cfm

say:

"Eligibility - In the Factory Series Classes, the registered hulls must have started in a minimum of two (2) APBA Pro-Series, APBA Divisional events in the same class in any Division, or OPA (Offshore Performance Association) Race prior to the World Championship event. The same driver and/or throttleman must have competed in the same boat in the same class in order to qualify the hull for the World Championship event. A boat that does not meet the qualification requirements of this rule may nevertheless compete in the World Championship Event although it is ineligible to receive the World Championship. Notwithstanding the foregoing, any former World Champion Driver or Throttleman in the class or its substantial equivalent shall receive a provisional (automatic) entry into the World Championship Event for that class provided that all other rules herein must be complied with."

This means: If you've done two races with the Boyz, you may go to Orange Beach and become a World Champion.

Heck, even I could take White Trash to Orange Beach and race. Provided, Kirk comes along. If he would come along, we would stand a chance, because he has won the Worlds before. But sadly, no time for us.

Go for it, Boyz!!!!!

hey Bert since Randy, Cohen, and Dave qualify as "Factory series classes" what does that mean for the rest of us that run the P classes? of course we can run but are we eligible for the world title in those classes?

BRUCE SEROFF 10-09-2003 06:56 PM

Trent

I believe the same pertains to P classes

Outlaw Series Classes

classes – Outlaw Vee, One Design and all Outlaw Performance Classes.

2. Eligibility - In the Outlaw Series Classes, the registered hulls must have started in a minimum of two (2) APBA Pro-Series, APBA

Divisional events in the same class in any Division or OPA (Offshore Performance Association Race prior to the World Championship event. The same driver and/or throttleman must have competed in the same boat in the same class in order to qualify the hull for the World Championship event. A boat which does not meet the qualification requirements of this rule may nevertheless compete in the World Championship Event although it is ineligible to receive the World Championship.

OH boy

Do I hear two double headers in one season? At least it's back to back weeks, and not all in the same weekend. Who has the stones???????????? I'll do it if anyone else will Ed

The way I read it, Boyz may definitely compete in their Outlaw (P) class.

Eligible Boyz may most likely also compete in the "substantial equivalent" of their class. For instance, OPA doesn't have F classes, so the "substantial equivalent" of F1 would probably be P4.

So if you've raced P4 in Joisey, you may race F1 at the Redneck Riviera. I guess that's what it says.

I also guess that your boat must comply with Factory rules should you desire to compete against brother Boyz Randy, Cohen & Dave in F1. If it doesn't (Augie ...) : Race Outlaw class. Careful: They have those little GPS thingies. Small handheld jobs in yellow pelican cases.....

Who has the Stones, Ed? Are you asking the Boyz?????

Anyone interested in racing the SBI worlds that have raced two races in any of the sanctioned bodies this year are eligilable for the worlds. John is tring to make it easy on the races and welcomes all.
APBA has also committed to allow the OPA racers, good choice allows everyone the option to be involved.
