As Steve said they are both great motors, but when this 3 year agreement with APBA is over will Vortec continue to produce the marine motors? Who knows right now. I personally would have agree with Roger and go with Merc, due to they have taking the Chevy motors and marinizing them for years. The Vortec marine program just started in the past 2 years after making truck and car motors for years. Plus as Bruce can attest I hate mismatching brands and parts and like it or not I havent seen a Vortec outdrive on the market yet.
As far as the lease program I would have to side with Vortec at least the 2003 program. It was an awesome program this year and the way to go from the financial standpoint.
Good luck in your decisions for next season Wil. I might not be at all of the races next year, but Larry and you have a fan for life. It is an honor to tell my son as he gets older that I had the privledge of racing against the Crazy Cubans.
