Hey everybody, great time in Orange Beach even though we were sent to the bottom of the list. My understanding from what Bubba has said is ALL the boats that broke out are not DQed but sent down to last place and will get last place points. It's still pretty hard for me to get in my head that The Flying Condo did a 76.0 mph lap speed when our top speed was 77 mph but we do the racing not the scoring. Smitty and Sticks will be doing a lot more testing, putting in a new GPS and if we are a P-3 boat we will gladly move up.The Jersey Boyz are all about being honest and that's how we want to win. Kevin and I have had a GREAT run in P-4 for three years and if it's time to try and kick a$$ in P-3 than that's where we will be, no questions. To the other three P-4 boats that got sent down with us to last place, Kevin and I had the best time in a long while running against you all, CLOSE, EXCITING and HEART STOPPING(at least in our boat), Thank You All! SBI has said they will enforce the rules and this goes to show everyone that had any doubts. Congrats to Bruce and Eddie of Team Simply Awesome on their win in the P-4 class in Orange Beach. Best of luck to all the teams this year, have fun and be safe. Regards, Augie and Kevin.

Augie,
Only boats that where within 1 mph of there average lap speed will get a last place finish in that class and also remain in the class. Any boats that ran over 70.9 mph average lap speed will be moved up a class.Any boat that broke out and was within the 1 mph will still get points but again for a last place finish. SBI will be coming out with a release on this any day that will explain it all. Just wanted to clear it up before some teams got the wrong idea. Frank "Koolhand" |
Frank-Since John won't look at O.S.O. and won't update his website I herby direct you to that responsability and GOD BLESS you and all the Jersey Boyz for supporting our venue.Give us a call when you have a chance.Gary

Spoke to John C. (Bubba) last night and he has assured me that ALL the boats that broke out no matter what speed it was will get last place points. Any questions I would suggest you call SBI direct. Thanks, Augie

My opinion....switch to GPS. But set it up this year so teams dont have to change classes and next year run it the same way everyone else does.
For example P-5 max GPS speed 64.9 P-4 max GPS speed 69.9 P-3 max GPS speed 79.9 P-2 max GPS speed 89.9 P-1 max GPS speed 110 if you change the rules now, some teams, (myself included) will not be competitve in their existing class and may need to bump down which will cause them to lose their points in that respective class. just a thought |
Additionally, Augie is Correct
according to my rulebook, any boat that breaks out of its speed bracket, will be moved to last place (NOT DQd)and recieve last place points. That team must then move up to the next bracket. The BIG question is... will they be allowed to bring their points with them??? I wouldnt think so. I think the only fair way to address that would be to let the other teams in that class take a vote and decide. Lets nip this in the bud now, while its still early in the season |
