need your opinion on Kryptonite
I found one that we are going to buy and I have been trying to research all I can. we are buying it with out the motor and I just want to know what you think as far as resale. I would love to race and I tease Ron, but I don't think he would ever let me so this boat we will play with and then sell it. anything that you know about them would be great. If there is anything negitive feel free to send me a PM, just alittle nervous on this buy.
Thanks K |
Re: need your opinion on Kryptonite
Typhoon Kicked Ass with a Kryptonite and proved that boats worth.

Re: need your opinion on Kryptonite
Talk to Typhoon, like Scott said the boat runs great. A customer of ours with a 2003 29' with a 525 with a 2" shorty will run 88-89. The new ones need to add a considerable amount of weight to make the minimum weight for the F1 class. Without all that wieght the boat runs considerably faster.

Re: need your opinion on Kryptonite
That is what I thought , but I was reading something that made me think it had changed. just want to confirm with you guys I just got a pm and I am all set.we can't wait to get it on the water.....
Thanks |
Re: need your opinion on Kryptonite
I have that 2003 29' with a 525 with a 2" shorty, and I can confirm the numbers (when run without added weight - dry weight, fully rigged is approx 4000 lbs.) Excellent boat! And Kirk (owner of Kryptonite) is an excellent guy. PM for details.

Re: need your opinion on Kryptonite
Thanks ScottB, Throttle up and Peconic.
heading out the door to go make the deal we will be back on Thursday if all goes right will post pic's of the new toy. Funny thing is we bought a bullet in the fall and it has yet to hit the water but I am more excited to drive this one....... |
Re: need your opinion on Kryptonite
You cant go wrong with a Kryptonite. I have the first one ever built and it has 70 plus hard races on her. 4 World Championship wins and memories that will last a life time. Value is priceless. Have fun.

Thanks for all the input. we got her home last night here are some pic's.
some of you guys should know this boat. we can't wait to put it on the water and see what type of speed we get. I was asking Arnaldo how she lands and that we would send him some air shots... Typhoon any pointer's you can share would be great. |

IT's I/O and it is 29' Arnaldo was a super nice guy and thought his boat was now in good hands. he is talking about building another one with no rub rail. That would look sweet.
here is a pic of the motor we had that we are putting in except we changed the intake to a dart it is a 540 bulldog going in this weekend |

As it has been said, Typhoon's record speaks loudly for Kryptonite.
The Typhoon team are two of the hardest charging racers in the sport today. Reminds me alot of Joe Sgro & Joe Latona of Fever Racing in a 28 Manta w/twin Zul small blocks.....back in the 90's. Here is a pic of a Kryptonite in the molding process... |

This must have been one of the best deals around. Arnaldo took extremely good care of his boat and didn't run it much .... Kirk never gave him enough time to do so ...
Some photos of the building process (Randy's boat shown, Arnaldo might be in there somewhere ...) |

jcap,
Thanks.... I hear ya with the Kill Switch our Lake is the perfect Lake to get to know the boat. and Play. I asked Arnaldo how the boat Landed he said it was great. would Love to see some airshots.... when we take the boat out we will definitely post the pic's there are a few on the lake that will want to take the challenge and a couple that I will have great pleasure in smoking . but I tend to get in trouble with Ron because he think's that I go beyond. I am not in anyway even close to what Typhoon is but I just love to race after all you have to start somewhere.... I plan on really just learning how the boat handles and then going from there I got my first real taste for speed on this lake when I could not beat a friend of ours. we then bought this engine that is going into this boat . but we both sold the boats we had then. then I was out playing on a jetski and 2 guys in a jetboat came up to me and Ron was on our docks with the boys and he gave me the ok to go for it. I had ablast because I thought no way can I bet them... well the best part was for them to think that I was full out.. little did they know I had more I let them get by me just alittle and then took them. That was another taste.... they came back a couple more times like they want to try again. we can't wait to see how this boat handles. will play it safe and any tips from the guys that know theses boats the best would be great. thanks we have to put K-planes and hydraulic steering on the boat before we can run it real hard if any one has either or for sale let us know. just got done getting the engine ready to drop in tomorrow here is a pic. R&K |
Re: need your opinion on Kryptonite
If your buying tabs we prefered the long tabs best. What HP is the motor? at 800 HP it will be colse to 100 mph. We have never had our boat past the mid 80's so I have no expereance at that speed. BE CAREFULL !!!!!!!! If you want to call me my cell is 908-531-1711

Re: need your opinion on Kryptonite
Roger your numbers, Randy. According to experiments, she does 100 with a 750hp engine.

we never did get to take it out. It is already to go for this coming weekend. we don't have the tabs on or the steering but the motor sounds awesome. here is a pic.I saw that you are selling either one of yours if I hear anyone looking I will send them your way. This weekend we only got a chance to put the bullet in and it was very windy. had ablast with the way that boat handles. the best day out of the weekend had to go down State 2 Nephew's are in the marines and are heading to Iraq. But weather is looking good for this coming weekend..... will post pic's and number's then.
