Nutz take 1st, 2nd and 3rd in St. Pete

In a very tight game of trading places, the Nutz teams monopolized the first three places.

Wildcard came in 1st, Typhoon 2nd, Hocus Pocus 3rd. Team IMCO finished last.

Wildcard was the clear leader. The other teams traded places through most of the race. Hocus Pocus looked very good, especially in the turns. Allen Campbell on the Hocus Pocus throttles is a winner.

Typhoon was 3rd in the first laps, for a short while they were even 4th after IMCO edged by. Later, Glenn & Randy picked off Hedrick/Wahlberg and then Cormier/Campbell to finish 2nd.

All the Nutz thank everybody who made this wonderful race possible. We especially thank those who made the incredible purse possible. Not often does the purse go up after the race, here it did. Thank you. You know who you are.

Re: Nutz take 1st, 2nd and 3rd in St. Pete

Judging from my highly unofficial points estimations, Wild Card leaves St. Petersburg with a 40 points lead over the remaining OSSVL teams in the OSS national points totals. Behind Will & Larry, it will be a virtual dead heat between the remaining OSSVL teams, with all having the same points total (+/- a point or two.) OSSVL will be an exciting place, all the way to Key West.

Re: Nutz take 1st, 2nd and 3rd in St. Pete

Dave: They had a wet t-shirt contest over at the Team IMCO truck, with a clear and very well deserved winner.

IMCO might be a bit sedate on occasion, but they sure have the hottest females.

The Dog Pound had a very cute visitor from The Switch team. They are right: This sport is going to the dogs.

And would someone please tell Randy & Glenn that it's boat racing, not low level flight?

That was one great race for us in SVL. Lot of position changeing the whole race. We are all so equal in speed it was great. All 4 boat finished with in 1.5 min. of each other. Max speeds were about 85-88 mph. Thanks for the extra purse money on the spot as well. The top 3 teams actualy made money or broke even to go racing!!!!!!

Erick and I with Team IMCO also want to say what a great time we had. The race was great as was the overall event. Todd Werner did an outstanding job with this event, especially considering all the hurdles we had to jump through. I too was disappointed not to see the OSS Cat's run but safety must come first.

Wil, how are we gonna catch you???

Ok new OSS rule for Wild Card...

Wil Ros must:
1. Run a 6-blade Herring with 4 blades removed. Your choice as to which four.
2. Run 87 octane fuel with 5 gals of 2 cycle oil added.
3. Must remove one trim tab, again your choice.
4. No drive oil shall be allowed.
5. Larry is NOT allowed in the boat...

I have discussed this with the OSS Board and it has been approved.

Looking forward to St. Clair and OH, did I mention that Erick just bought us a new Keith Eickert Super Charged 900... Now we'll see...

Re: Nutz take 1st, 2nd and 3rd in St. Pete

Ben, I've seen the Krazy Kubans race without a drive. It might take more radical measures to slow them down. Now no Larry in the boat: That hurts.

Ben,
It is a great thrill to share the weekend with you guys.We are sure that your team will be there every step of the way.The above rules are OK except #5.NO LARRY,NO WILDCARD.We hope to see you and hopefully new faces in St. Clair.

Re: Nutz take 1st, 2nd and 3rd in St. Pete

Wil,
Ok... I have review the new OSS rules for Wild Card and I concur with your thoughts ref. Larry not being in the boat and I also agree. Larry does need to be in the boat as it is a rule that two people MUST be in the boat, BERTEL!!! Sound familiar??? So Larry can race with you but there will be a "revised" Rule #5 for Wild Card.

Rule #5: Larry must be handcuffed and be seated backwards and with only one shoe on and the other shoe must be 3 sizes too small.

This is final... :blaster:

Jeez. I thought the idea was to slow them down. This'll make 'em even faster!

Ja, all give a big round of applause to the new Nutz, Louuuuuuuu Ann and Allen Campbell of Team Hocus Pocus. Allen has the reflexes of the F16 pilot he is. He's a Lt. Col. of the FL Air National Guard. Many of you have shared a ride with Allen, because during the day, he flies big rigs in the friendly skies of Delta. Allen gave an exceptionally good showing in the F1 circuit last year with his Screaming Eagles team. He's a buddy you want on your side if there's hell and high water. The Campbells are best suited as Nutz team members, because due to Lou Ann's deep involvement with the Sarasota Animal Rescue, they are experts in dealing with animals.
