Should I cancel Reservations??
 

Being an optimist, I previously made reservations at the Holiday inn for the August races in Sarasota..

Is the race cancelled for certain? Or should I hold on to the reservation.

who knows for sure if the races are cancelled? I am in the process of making reservations

It was reported on the local ABC tv station that the races had been cancelled.
On June 24th, all Race Committee members got an email from Anthony Puccio, last year's Chairperson, cancelling the races. I will try to post that later today.
JDRF pulled all association from the Sarasota Offshore Showdown "group".
Most of the Race Committee resigned, including myself, from the SOS group.

There is a thread in this forum entitles SOS Race cancelled or something like that, that I started last week. All info is there including JDRF's letter of withdrawl.

As of right now to the best of my knowledge all appearance indicate the August 27th -29th Race is cancelled. I did hear last night from someone that they had heard that another group was going to try to do the race. I have no idea if there is any merit to rumor # 6,754 for the month of June.

I will stay on top of this and if I find anything that I KNOW TO BE TRUE, will report immediately.

RIGHT NOW THE RACES ARE CANCELLED. THE AUGUST RACES.

Mark, not at all. The only thing I was trying to do is report that the ORIGINAL group was not putting on the race. That is all. And had I not been interuppted by a phone call I would have added that to my post. I certainly am not trying to add any fuel to any fire. I don't believe in that.


AND, I also just heard that there is a possibility that the race may still be on. I know that APBA did not want to cancel. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it does happen.

Please accept my apology if I spoke out of turn, it was not my intention. Right or wrong the only thing I do is try to help. Sometimes I should just shut up. Unfortunately, that's hard for me to do. Again, sorry if I spoke out of turn.

As th the main subject of this thread.. I thank all for their inputs. I'll still hang in there with my reservations until :stupid:
