Considering Formula F2 Purchase

I wanted to see if I could get some feedback from a few of you. I am considering purchase of a 2001 Formula 382 F2 with 500EFIs. I plan to use the boat for fast fun / poker runs etc. What kind of performance and reliability have you guys seen from these boats. Is the hull up to the hard use? What should I look for in a used F2 boat with about 60 hours? Anything else I should consider or think about?

Re: Considering Formula F2 Purchase

testdrv, where do you boat? Salt? Fresh? Most race vehicles are set up for lifting harnesses, so they might be sitting on steel trailers. If you plan to launch in salt water, and your marina doesn't have a crane handy, you probably want an aluminum trailer.

Some steel trailers are c-channel, which don't trap water and rinse off easily. A tube-steel trailer will eat itself from the inside within a couple of years once exposed to salt.

Just a thought,
Brian

d-hlaw, that's a fine looking Cigarette. And very competitive back in F2's glory days.
