How about 1 race? Cambridge! And I appreciate the effort put out from CBPBA for their offerings... It may come as a surprise to you but many people came up to me at the Cambridge race asking if the class would be around next year. All I could say to them was register early and it would probably be considered. Other than that, after Camden, someone else can pick up the ball to keep it going. I focused on Long Island knowing that was where all these type boats were. Unfortunately they never seem to leave the Great South Bay  Hopefully the others will come out and participate. |
Re: Whos in on Camden this weekend
Thanks for all your support Ted!
I will be arriving Sunday morning. Saturday I have a wedding to attend... |

You may want to think twice if you plan on watching the race from the water. I was considering bringing my boat until I got this email: Hello Race Fans, I just got off the phone with the State Police. There will be NO spectator boats allowed to watch the race. The State Police and Coast Guard will be closing the river to all traffic at both bridges by 10:30. Access from the marinas on the Philly side will be blocked off. The best place to watch the race is the Camden Waterfront or on the deck of the Battleship NJ. The race will be announced via PA system from the battleship so that's probably where a spectator would want to be. That's all for now. Ron |
Re: Whos in on Camden this weekend
Skater24...bring that baby out to run P-3. lets see what you got. If Ryan Beckley can do it in P-2 ..you can too.

Re: Whos in on Camden this weekend
Tim, if we gave you everything you asked for, who would show up?
Please give me the names and phone numbers of 6 boats that will actually show and race and we'll have a real discussion. |

At this point I am just trying to find some other incentive to get people off their trailers. What are the total OPA costs for a new boat to register and race on Sunday in the SOB Class? 2004 Annual Membership Per Rider: ? 2004 Annual Equipment Fee: ? Camden Race Entry Fee: ? |
Re: Whos in on Camden this weekend
Here's the OPA paperwork.

Re: Whos in on Camden this weekend
We had it worked out to 250 per boat equipment fee
100 per rider 250 for the race in Cambridge Use that, I'll work it out with Kurt when 8 or 9 boats show up-OKAY?? ;) |
Re: Whos in on Camden this weekend
I'll stick with Ted's answer. Sounds good to me too.
Just get the boats!!! |
Re: Whos in on Camden this weekend

Re: Whos in on Camden this weekend

You also have a 22 Velocity that had been offered to you to use in Cambridge if you wanted. Just needed to bolt on the motor from your Checkmate or I have a 2.5 Merc that was available... So you see, unfortunately it wasn't just the Long Island gang that didn't back up their talk...but a few from Jersey too... :( Well, I tried... We'll see what happens this weekend. After that? Who knows......... |
Re: Whos in on Camden this weekend

Re: Whos in on Camden this weekend
Hey Sharkey...
Good point with the acceleration, I can see how that would be a factor. So where do guys like me go from here? Are all sanctioning bodies' P5's limited to single engines? What about the bigger size off-setting the twin motors? A 31 Bullet doesn't accelerate like a 24 Superboat, yet both can top out around 70. Back in the early 90's I had a 24' Condor and my friend had a 22' Scarab. On a calm day he was quicker. On a rough day I could out-run him. It made for a lot of fun. Every outing brought different challenges. Just my $0.02. Thanks. Chris |
Re: Whos in on Camden this weekend
APBA, GLSCS, and SBI allow twins in P-5. In APBA , you must be 28 feet and under Max GPS speed of 70mph. and SBI, I believe, is 32 and under. Max Avg lap speed of 64.9. Im not sure about the length limit in GLSCS. I do know a 39 foot Chris Craft Stinger Ran P-5.
