Re: 2005 F1/f2 496 Ho
Randy,
The "E" class was a 502 MPI Merc engine, 415 Horsepower. I ran a few races in "Wild Rose", we were not competative at 69-70 mph. "Pump It" also ran E class at that time, I would think 73-75 MPH was competative. In Sarasota in 2000, there were 7 E class boats racing. I should ad that this was a "bone stock" 28 Sunsation with zero Dial in time. With some seat time/different props and tweaking, I'm sure it would have been a bit faster. |

Would my 1999 Merc 502 415 horse be legal?
|
Re: 2005 F1/f2 496 Ho
It has to be one of the (3) above engines. You can run it in the "P" classes tho. Dave

What kind of headers are leagal in APBA vs SBI?
Will Volvo,Merc and Inovation have a contigancy plan? |
Re: 2005 F1/f2 496 Ho
Randy, No headers. Just manifolds. I was hoping they would put the package together they were talking about last year with the 1.7 Rockers, Reprogramed ECU and Dry CMI's with 475HP. Dave

Re: 2005 F1/f2 496 Ho
This is a great move by APBA and SBI, in short my 2001 28' Nordic just became F1 legal!!!
Now with all that weight in the nose it would not be competitive, but it is legal to race. With all the new boats running the 496HO this move is the right one, as is the manifold rule. Now we have two raceboats, and not enough drivers. |

F1 weight is 4500#. Dave
