2005 F1/f2 496 Ho
 

Now that the wheels are in motion,and next year F1/ F2 will be back with the 496 HO package who's ready to rock and roll. The new class rules should make for some of the most exciting head to head racing this coming year. I think it will be bigger and better then F class ever was. SBI and APBA will be working hard to promote these class and build them to where they need to be. This should make for some VERY affordable,and SAFE racing in both F1 & F2, I would imagine mid 70's for F1 and mid 80's for F2 and again at a affordable price.New boats being built and some of the older F1 & F2 that can change power and be ready for next year. I for one am really looking forward to it, and looking forward to racing against some of the teams from years ago. We had some great time with fleets of 10-15 boats and I think we are on our way again. It up to you the class is there now it our move next to be ready.

Just curious where the motor package of the 496 will be coming from? Is it coming directly from Mercury?

The exciting F1 boats will just need motors,and the new boats being built the packages are coming from Merc.
With SBI 10 or 11 race shedule and TV coverage sponsor should jump all over this class. OLN now goes out to almost 65 Million homes nation wide.

I am very happy the 496 package was implimented. Good job APBA and SBI..... will OSS follow?

I don't think OSS is interested...From what I've been lead to believe they are not interested in open boats racing with them. Also they are only interested in the bigger classes and not into the small boats like us (lucky us).But things change... All of a sudden they are REAL interested in SBI's SUPER STOCK class,fun how the worm turns.

I like this. Now what will be the hot boat? Is ITS allowed? What X restrictions? Any other restrictions for F1?

One engine , one drive for all length boats? Tell me more because I am building a new race boat now. It now could be an F1 Boat , this could be great news! BH

The ? I have is the same ? that came up in Ft. Lauderdale a year ago for the f1 & f2 meetings. What will be the cost for the racers for the new engine package. Remember now this seems good but how good will it be once the price tag comes along. I just hope that it will be agreeable to all those involved.
