More specifically Mercury's testing facility. I believe it also has a new name...
"X-Site".

Lake X was closed this year and moved to Panama City, Florida. The new facility is called X-Site and is only a few blocks from downtown Panama City. The facility offers support to race teams running 100% Mercury products. They have a full time race support staff (the same guys you see at the races supporting Merc products). drive shop, and other support and repair services available. They also have a wall of test props to chose from.

On-water testing is done on local waters and includes any type of water conditions you may want. Stay inside on the bays or go outside to the bigger stuff.

If your racing 100% Mercury products you can use the facility to dial in your boat, provided you sign a liability waiver and agree not to go poking your nose into areas where some company confidential activities are being conducted.

Mike Owens is the Service Manager...he is very helpful in answering your questions, providing directions to the facility, offering suggestions on where to stay, and places to eat. He has a lot of local knowledge and can steer you in the right direction if you need some custom machine work, looking for the local dive shop, or anything else you can imagine. Mike can also get you any Merc parts you need...fast.

If you can't get your boat to the facility, you can send your Merc drives, engines, or whatever to them and they will perform the repairs, save any replaced parts for you, and ship your factory spec equipment back to you...all at a VERY reasonable price.

Mike's number is (850) 769-1011 ext 117

Give him a call...

Ken Doyle
