Rules
Who is in charge of writing the rules this year for offshore?
OSS? APBA? SBI? I need their contact information for some new products that we want to race. Thanks in advance. Pat Weismann |
Re: Rules
SBI and APBA
|
Re: Rules
Talk to Pops at APBA, John C at SBI and you should start with the racers in OSS. If they like it, they might vote it in. Also speak with George Linder, he's the technical director for OSS.
What's the new product? |
Re: Rules
I need to correct that to products. The Cats and Vees have my tongue for now. I hate getting banned before we get started. I'll let you know Ron.
Thanks for the info. pat W |
Re: Rules
WPA is now (SBI and APBA) With this announcement I think the rules will change.
Who is the person or persons I need to talk to at the WPA? pat W |

Re: Rules
shifter,
There is going to be a meeting in Georgia for the new group. I would say try to attend or get someone to attend for you. I would think Nigel could represent you guys if he is planning on being there. |
Re: Rules
I talked to Paul W, and John C.
Both series seem to be running there orginizations like a democracy and not a Dictatorship. There were some things from last year about people having the voting ability and not running the class or the series they voted in. I feel that there should be a review and a revote at the end of the season to eliminate this kind of thing. Does anyone know when the voting is going to happen? I appreciate the time they took to answer my questions. I know they are very busy. Thanks, Pat Weismann |
Re: Rules
Pat, there are class reps you can talk to for SBI/APBA and they can propose rule changes and if they have support of 5 teams they can present it to the board of governers. The board of governers will review and send out for a vote to registered equipment owners or reject it. Keep in mind, having been to the meetings in Atlanta, this is my best assesment on how it works. There are more details involved but your best bet would be to contact your class rep and John C or Pops can tell you who that is.

Re: Rules
We are on the ballot with SBI\APBA.
I do not know who is racing where so I came back to the board to ask. Thanks for the info. Pat |
Re: Rules
Is your equipment legal in OSS SHIFTER??????
|
Re: Rules
Not that I know of. The rules tend to frown on anyone who beats Merc. Only time will tell.
pat W :evilb: |
Re: Rules
I would at least think your drop boxes would be legal for an inline set up. Was Nigels boat just grandfathered in???
|
Re: Rules
OSS banned the in-line set up last year.
Nigel and Vern ran with SBI. Grandfathered means = you paid your dues we will still let you play or we do not want to see your stuff in a new boat I designed that set-up with safety in mind. pat W |
Re: Rules
Does anyone know who the class reps are? In other words which racers are actually providing input to APBA/SBI (WPR). Is there one person providing suggestions for all the P classes or does each class have a rep.
Does anyone know how and why the lap speed increase came about from SBI just before the World's? Thanks |
Re: Rules
The lap speed change at the Worlds just went back to what we ran in 2003.
|
Re: Rules
Ray, Scott B is your rep.
|
Re: Rules
So have there been any decisions on the rules for this season? OSS or WPR?
pat W |

Re: Rules
Hey Pat - glad to read that you're making some progress with your drives. I still have a brand new set for sale, complete with gimballs, if anyone is interested. They are awesome drives - I just don't have a need for them at this time. I'll let them go for a fraction of what I paid.

Re: Rules
Kilo Kat,
Good luck with super cat this year. Do you get rookie stripes? My money is on you an JT. It is a shame no one had the balls to beat the 202. Nice to be holding aces. pat W |
Re: Rules

I like the logo change. I was working on the rest. Tell me what you think. #1 because we beat ourselves That is the best I could do. Do you have any? pat W :D |
