A Note From Michelle Schmidt

Hi Guys & Gals -

Been out sick with cancer since November in Key West, but am doing much better and beating this thing - so I hope to see you all on the water at the first races of the season -

I know some of you knew and I thank you for the great emails and such over the last months - Steve and I both appreciate your support!

Anyway, most of you have seen our race trailer - I used it last year as the "APBA Media Center" and the fact that I don't have a position since there is no more APBA Offshore plus with all the medical bills coming in, well, no need for the trailer and we kind of need to move on selling it as quickly as possible - which could be good news for someone who wants a great deal....

So I was thinking, maybe one of you might like to buy it, or even if a class wanted to buy it together and make it your portable clubhouse, it has plenty of room for sponsor stickers - great hospitality - a lounge with A/C, leather couches, a satellite dish for TV access, a sink, shower, toilet - and in the mid section, a mechanic's area & desk area that most of you saw me at, at each race - plenty of drawers for stuff!

If you're really energetic, you could make it sort of an "offshore club" and have people join to get credentials, but you'd have pay an organization for the space if you open it up to non paying - non racer fans, but more power to ya!

Anyway, the back wasn't finished out, because, well, you know, but there is a top storage area that could be a bedroom, and the back can transport a car, golf cart, scooters, motorcyles, tents, chairs or cook out items for your parties -

It also has new paint on it and comes with a truck (Rig) with a sleeper cabin. We started out asking 89,900 in Deerfield, dropped it to 79,900 and of course, have about 90,000 in it, but hey, 60,000 will do it.

So, if you want it, can you give Steve a call on his cell phone at 954-270-2628? We can send you pix!

His email is [email protected]

and you can reach me at [email protected]

I'll try to answer you in between chemo's - which are working!!!

Best wishes for a great 2005 to you all!

Michelle May - Schmidt

Michelle, you will recover quicker because you have a great husband by your side. I had the pleasure of doing buisness with him, Frank and I saw the trailer, if we had a place to keep it we would have baught it back in December. Steve did a great job rigging the trailer for living and working areas. Good luck and god bless you and Steve.

Re: A Note From Michelle Schmidt

Hey There -
Sorry for not getting back to you all sooner - it takes about three days after each chemo to get back on track, but they tell me great news, one of the three tumors has "disappeared" off the radar, the second is 50% reduced and the third is 25%, so yeah, it looks like it will take some more treatments but I should be in the winners circle in a few months!

I was truly overwhelmed by everyone's wishes and prayers both here and for some of you who emailed me direct. THANKS SO MUCH!!!

I haven't had to rely on the offshore family myself in the past, so this is a first, but it is awesome to know you are all out there pulling for us!

Hopefully, I will catch up with some of you in Miami - since thats near home, if not, I will send Steve to get me the latest news and good luck to you all in Biloxi as well!!

Take care of yourselves and your family!!

Michelle, Steve, Brittany and Courtney

Re: A Note From Michelle Schmidt

As Scott, Augie, and I have said AMFOffshoreracing.com is a positive addition to the offshore racing community.

Today the team met with Steve S. to check out the rig, and ended up purchasing it. Steps are already underway to turn it into the AMFOffshoreracing.com "racehouse" which will be on site at future races.

It would be our pleasure for all race teams not having trailers on site at the pits, to stop by at their leisure, whether it be to grab some food, borrow a tool or just chill out over a cold beer.

Finally we hope we have helped Steve and Michelle out by relieving financial obligations onset by maintaining the trailer.

And MOST IMPORTANTLY, our prayers our with Michelle as we wish her a 100% recovery so she and her family can soon again join us, hanging out in the rig, at upcoming races and events.

Re: A Note From Michelle Schmidt

On behalf of Michelle, myself and our two daughters we wish to thank AMF racing on their purchase of the race trailer. After picking her up from her chemo treatment yesterday she was thrilled to know that the trailer is going to a good home and to wish Scott, Augie and the entire AMF racing team the best in this years racing season and we hope that they enjoy it as much as she has using it as the media center. The sale of the trailer indeed brings a financial relief as we work to cover medical expenses. Michelle says that as soon as she can she will see you all at the races and appreciates all the kind words of support. She also wants to extend the offer to Scott, Augie, John and the AMF team to write up a story letting the world know what's about to hit them. Thanks and best wishes.
