Another Wreck at GLOC
 

I heard there was a wreck this weekend during the Ugly Johns Poker Run that involved a Scarab. Does anyone know if this is true and any details if it is. Supposedly the Scarab had purple Dragon graphics down the side. Anyone know this boat?

I believe it was a Sunsation that hooked and tossed a few out. I heard it also sank while being towed. Must've had a drive rip off or something.

I hope all on board are ok.

I just heard at lunch that a cruiser hit a pontoon about 6pm saturday , somewhere by two- tree island, My buddy said he saw lots of lake patrol and ambulances??? anybody hurt?? Was the Sunsation Chris from Texas boat or has he sold it?

Yes it was Chris's old Sunsation, But he has sold it. Don't know who owns now, I heard someone from LOTO.

It was a 30 Sunsation..twin Dereberrys with chargers on top... the Dragon boat..it was haulin azz just in front of us all day untill we left Juan Montez/ sailboat bridge area.... everyone was far apart due to the slow card stop...I never saw it again but heard the same story later at Uglys that it had hooked and went down...those big rollers in that curve from sailboat to shangri la were the worst we saw all day...GRDA tried to pull it to the shallows but gave up temporarily...prob have it by now..also heard that all four crew went to Grove and the worst was a broken nose..hope thats true!!! whip

That part of the lake can be nasty. I have had a close call there myself.

The post on this in the GD says a drive broke. Any word on what caused the drive to break?

Chris' old Drangonheart was running some pretty good power for bravo type drives. I can't remember if he switched to Imco or not, but it was still on the edge for the drives.
