Thunder Bay Marina?

Anybody have anything good or bad to say about Thunder Bay on GLOC? It looks like they are one of the few places that actually have slips left. I have reserved one there tentatively. We are going to try and take a look at them soon. They look to be fairly nice docks from the water, but we haven't seen them up close.

CYC has nothing, Harbors View has nothing, Arrowhead has some, and we are probably going to look at them as well.

They have nice docks and a good bar. Service department is not as good as it used to be after Jim left.

Im over at arrowhead YC and I love it, the club has great food and good music but not as many amenities as CYC but they are putting in a pool and updating the docks..

Arrowhead sounds nice, but it is quite a bit more expensive than Thunder Bay. I'm sure we will pop in and take a look if we can get out there this weekend. the wife is sick :( , but hopefully she'll be better by tomorrow.

Warparty, are you saying you wouldn't trust the current service dept to do basic maintenance? Would you be not inclined to let them pull an engine or install a hydraulic steering system?

We are moving to Arrowhead in the next couple of weeks.

You gonna be out tomorrow Matt? We should be out barring any unforseen circumstances. We are going to look at Arrowhead and Thunder Bay. If you're around, we could drink a cold one!

Are you joining the club? Are your slips going to be at the North or South docks? The lady we spoke to said that there may not be anything in our size on the North docks.

We are actually here now. Sitting on the back of the boat, drinking a beer and surfing OSO. Doesn't get much better than this.:drink:

Give me a call when you get down.

We are on the north docks in a 40' slip. Not joining the club yet, we will see later.

Is the big boat already at Arrowhead? What's your number again Matt, I think I've lost it.

Jim is back at Thunder Bay, Tim also does a good job.

Well, as Matt knows, we committed to Arrowhead North as well. We looked at Thunder bay and the dock they had 30' slips on was pretty beat up with nails sticking out. Apparently it is also the dock they use for single night renters. I was not comfortable with leaving my boat on a dock that would have different random people accessing it on a regular basis. So, we stepped up for a slip at AN. The only thing they had was 40'x16', so we'll have a swimming pool with our 24x7 boat in there. Maybe we can sublet the extra space to people with jet skis! :D
