Are all you guys already winterized? Im doin mine this weekend, dont want any chances, already seen temps in the upper 30's but this saturday is supposed to be 70:Whatever:

whats the latest you guys wait??

Sea-Dated 10-26-2007 07:57 PM

We usually do ours, weather depending, weekend before Thanksgiving. There are still a couple of good runs left in this season.

zdek 10-31-2007 11:17 AM

Agreed! I'll be out this weekend!

masher44 10-31-2007 04:47 PM

please.... you need all day and all night well below freezing with no sun during the day before you need to worry. Even then a lightbulb or two and/or lowering the boat tro water level will work.... another month left before I do mine.

PJDiesel 10-31-2007 04:59 PM

True, the compartment picks up and stores A LOT of heat during the day, not just from direct sun either.

I HOPE to get one more run, it will probably be with a ski cap, gloves and carhartt jacket on though.....
I keep telling the wife I have to get out and get some stabilizer run though it.:D

mr.boat 10-31-2007 06:15 PM

wait we have lots of good days left. i will run my new/old scarab project this weekend for the first time. any runners this weekend?

waterboy222 10-31-2007 06:38 PM

Besides draining the block, it is a good idea to run some pink anti freeze through it once it is heated up and fog the motors. Just to be on the safe side.

That always helps especially if the pee has a high alcohol content.

I'll winterize around Thanksgiving or shortly thereafter. About four years ago it was 78 on New Years day. Didn't last long but that's Oklahoma weather for you.

I know better than that:

A: You weren't at the lake long enough to do any damage

B: When you were there, you were so drunk you could not have hit the lake let alona a carb

I think you mistook Jayhawks boat for mine or something because I noticed the dock was wet around his boat.
