We left out of Woodard, w/ Snowball, the 36' Skater, on fourth of July. He took off out of the hole and blew by us right across from Shangri La. Our GPS said 80+, Tyson said they were running 130. They buzzed us, it was awesome, and as they passed us, they hit a roller and we could see all the way under the boat, props and all. It was amazing... then we all realised we were about to hit the same roller, pegged! Needless to say, that is the most that A.O. has ever been out of the water! I so wish we could have had video of that!

Our insurance would be a lot lower if more people ran around every weekend and gained invaluble seat time. No substitute for experience. Most of the accidents I've seen or read about involve relatively new powerboaters going past the boat, or their own limits. They've at least made it more difficult for Joe Sixpack to run out and buy an ultra fast boat without jumping through some hoops.

$3K??? Savor the flavor! :drink:

Oh

And yeah, our insurance would be alot lower too if we could keep the wavegnats out of the middle of the main lake...bet that sucks even worse at 140...ZERO time to react, they are everywhere, and it always seems like it's a 10 year old by themselves...super dangerous:angry-smiley-038:

Yep, that too. I don't start to lay into it until I pass Duck Creek heading North. There are armies of gnats between Duck Creek and Dripping.

unbalanced 09-05-2008 10:50 AM

I think so. He currently lives in NC and I think he did say he was moving to Tampa. You know the boat?
