Re: Conversion almost complete
You had that boat apart soooooooo many times, you might as well put it together with wing nuts :D
Just kidding.looks good |
Re: Conversion almost complete
It is a little overwhelming to cut your boat like that....
I won't do that again! Now to fix some imperfections on the cutout and paint it with Awl Grip. Then to the gel coat guy for transom repair. |
Re: Conversion almost complete
Just out of curiocity...who are you useing for gel coat work? i may have a few "dings" i might want fixed... :)

Hi Wally -
I use a small shop up in Antioch - Contour Fiberglass. The owner Riley is a good guy and they have always done a nice job for me. Hope all is well, Happy Holidays!! Kirk |

Re: Conversion almost complete
AH! Contour.....i know those guys as well....i keep forgetting about them...they once come down here to Glenview to fix my boss's boat when he launched his old sea-ray a little too hot down the ramp and i couldn't get to the thing in time to stop it from smashing into the steel piling! Needless to say they fixed up the corner almost as good as new...they do good work.

Re: Conversion almost complete
I had to create a new account to sell my personal things in the Swap area. Advertisers can't post there any longer.
I always forget who I am - Pantera28, Ateco, Jurinek... Keeps you clowns on your toes. Wally - I might see if they will gel the back in my garage, it's only a few blocks from them. |
Re: Conversion almost complete
I dont see why not...like i said they came out here to Glenview to do a job on a boat....

Re: Conversion almost complete
IS IT IN YET? Bet you're used to hearing that.:D

Re: Conversion almost complete
Never been asked..they know
Nope, the engine should be here within a couple weeks and the Konrad should be ready in three weeks. Thye have to machine the adapter plate and assemble the Ace from the 540with the steering and nose cone lower. I would anticipate starting the install in late January/early Feb. Fuel system is sorted out and will be in this weekend. Upgrading to a GPS (120 MPH) speedo, mechanical oil pressure and possibly O2 Meter. All my gauge wiring and hoses are going to be redone and i am repairing a leaking o-ring on my steering helm unit. |
Re: Conversion almost complete
Engine arrived today and is uncrated, transmission bolted on and will go in next week!!
Konrad gimbal and extension box are on the boat already!! :drink: :drink: :drink: |
