Thanks to Matt, Dawn, Joe, Dennis, Ralph, Kevin and Jocko for a great snowmobiling trip up North!!!

Yes, Ski Doos roll very nice :eek: Nothing a new windshield couldn't take care of though!!

Stayed in Wakefield. Trails were decent Friday and Saturday AM. They got a little rough Saturday PM. Drove to Gogebic Lodge to watch the Bears game Sunday and packed it up and headed home.

Wow...know the area well...Bingo's Motel Bar still around I think Wakefield.

Sounds like fun. I sold all my stuff 4 yrs ago.

Brings back memories. We stopped in once mid afternoon for some liquid courage. No one was bartending but a few people were tipping some. They said to just walk behind the bar a serve myself till they came back. I guess they were busy doing daily motel chores. After about 3-4 beers, she finally came back in. We had another and settled up with the invisible bartender and got on our way.

Got to love them places up North.

I think 300+ or so. Not alot for this trip. I'd say a couple rolls and it was broken in!!!!!!!

It all depends on how big the track is. The track at Eagle river is 1/2 mile.

4 races on Sunday, took first place in all four!! this has only been done one time before in the 44 year history of eagle river championships.

I sponser this rider, Nick Van Strydonk from Tomahawk Wi.
My daughter used to race with him for 6 years when we did Kitty Cat racing.

He won the following classes:
Pro Sprint 500: 1. Nick Van Strydonk

Semi-Pro Sprint 600: 1. Nick Van Strydonk

It was -16 below when we got to the trailer Saturday AM, THAT MAKES FOR A LONG DAY ON THE ICE.

Friend at the tavern also 1 first place in Snocross up there. I think it's snowcross in Eagle River. He had the checkered flag and a 3ft trophy green and an Eagle(Pigeon!) on top. He's 42 yrs old and hurting. Races the minor division.

Just seen him last night. He races Masters 35 SnoCross at Eagle River and won 1st Sunday. He knew the Nick guy with the black sled.

Nick van Strydunk is 16 years old and has been oval ice racing for 12 years!

The Chain is as safe as the guy riding the sled.

Kevin and Matt were out last night. I'm sure we'll get the report today. I'd like to go out Saturday afternoon. Try to get up river.

there is ice on the chain. grass lake bridge is open. cattail channel is open. the rest is fairly frozen. we went form fox to marie. only sunk 2 sleds

What's the place in N WI? Bauers Dam I think. Did lot's of water skipping. Friend followed too close one time and he got all wet by time he got to shore ice he was "iced armour"

Get going 60 - 70 and hit the water, sled will dip just a hair, keep throttle on cruise. Don't gun it or let up then you are in trouble.
