Any help is appreciated,

Cheers,

Don't think it's in the cards this year. :(

It's worth the trip to Kingston to see the 1,000 Islands run. One of the absolute best.:D

that would be pretty cool! i think the closest thing we have though is the buffalo fun run, or prolly some runs up in muskoka.

Bob

Damn thats ****ty.

I would think that there would be one seeing as Lake Ontario is so big and Toronto is such a fun town to spend a weekend in for people from out of town.

I guess I will just have to race some korean guys in row boats by the island then.:cool-smiley-027:

Perlmudder 04-15-2008 12:27 PM

how hard would it be to set one up? nothing crazy, just an afternoon of boating.

ar15meister 04-15-2008 02:10 PM

afternoon of boating and a poker run are a bit different as far as setup is concerned I would think.

Perlmudder 04-15-2008 02:14 PM

well like just 3-4 card stops and a nice lunch/dinner after for everybody. i assume its a lot more work then just finding locations and getting people together? but how much more?

maybe bob knows... from what i have read he seems like the driving force behind fmo.

Western New York Fun Run

Come to the Western New York Fun Run June 13&14.!

Go to www.wnyfunrun.org for all the info.

PRA had a poker run on Lake Ontario for a long time.
It became a poor run because of dates and schedules cuz it was always left to late summer.
In late summer LO can have 6-8 ft. waves which it did a couple of years in a row as well as lots of fog. Turn out diminished to small crowd and no small boats participated.

Same thing happening on Georgian Bay.

Since PRA discovered the money in the USA they are down to only 2 runs in Canada.

1000 Islands which as BOB says is great.
Casino Hull High Stakes ( 10k entry fee ).

Toronto used to be Port Credit........Ontario Place......Scarborough Bluffs......Hamilton......... St. Catherines........Port Credit

Was good while it lasted

Enjoy Your 2008 Season Everyone

Airpacker 04-20-2008 08:50 AM

Adam, we have two or three runs on Simcoe each summer. It comes with a trailer, use it )

Sounds good Adam. Now, what do you want me to do with this Vette of yours? Diagnostic Darts?

The Chief was supposed to call you. He is probably out back sandblasting something and yelling at everyone.

I will remind him. I stopped by Saturday but I dont think you were there.

Thanks man.

Congrats Adam I hope it all works out OK for you . About the leins Be very carefull Boats are not like cars when you do a PPS . I will tell you more about that in private . A small loan is no problem . I will try and send you some business to help out if I can . BTW thanks for hauling my bike down to FLA you did a great job . I'm very happy .
Paul

ar15meister 04-22-2008 02:56 PM

Send me all the business you can Paul!

I am glad everything worked out well with the bike. Happy clients are the best kind.

And since you mentioned it.......

I am sending one of my trucks to Sturgis this year for the big show there. The truck is going to take all bikes from Toronto to Sturgis and unload them at the start, he is staying until the end and then reloading and coming home.

Total cost for the round trip including customs is $975.00CDN.

Fly in meet the bike- party- fly home and the bike comes to your house in a TFX truck.

I am making some posters to take to all of my Harley dealer buddies and I am going to be sending out some flyers but if you or any of your friends are going this is a SMOKIN deal.

hey ar, is tfx your company? i see those trucks around toronto all the time! usually on the qew or 401 heading into or leaving toronto.

Perlmudder 04-22-2008 03:54 PM

one time i was on eglinton and saw one of them take the left hand turn onto bathurst to go south. didnt think the guy was gonig to make it!

Airpacker 04-22-2008 04:14 PM

Hey adam, did the vette do it after ya picked it up? :)

Perm, ya , TFX is Adam's family business.

Adam, the newer trucks are sure a far cry from the rigs your dad ran in the early days. I can't remember how many times I had to do an "emergency" rewire on those suckers. The old two place featherlites with some rattle can ford duallys for pullin. :)

PS, tell your dad to give me a call when he wants the 6pack we discussed rebuilt for his new project. Might need time to scrounge up some NOS parts so they come out factory.

cloke 04-22-2008 05:05 PM

Great lookin rig !!!
And a great idea for the bikers to get there stuff to Sturgis.

Unfortunately I won't be using that service.

Big Chubby will do all my hauling..cuz I don't want my bike anymore and I can't sell it.

ar15meister 04-23-2008 10:08 AM

We still have all thouse old trailers sitting around as spares.

You should see the new city unit we just added, only one like it in Canada. 3 car enclosed with a hydraulic kick plate in the nose. We built the back door ourselves, thing is like a tank. Way better than those old piece of crap 2 cars. Those guys must make nothing but money selling those things because the amount of work they must put into them seems minimal.

Z06 ran fine, I tested out the steering and took a hard fast right into the off ramp up at dixon and 27 on my way to the shop and it was fine.

Pearl- You would be suprised the places we get into with those rigs. My city guys are in Forest Hill and Rosedale all of the time delivering.

You think those are big you should see the stuff the guys in the US run, some of them must be 95 feet long!!

Sean I will have the chief call you about the roadrunner 6pack.

Adam, if you want to mail a couple to Ottawa, I can take them to Freedom HD, and HD of Ottawa for you.

ar15meister 04-23-2008 01:25 PM

The only time we use a tilt and load to pickup cars is in situatons where the vehicle is inoperable and our truck cannot access the location due to size or length laws. In these cases we hire tilt and loads to bring the vehicle to our truck and then load it safely.

Also seeing as you stated that there was no damage involved in whatever you are referring to I am led to believe that there was no problem and we did our job and delievred the vehicle in the same condition it was given to us in.

We arent the official carrier for Ferrari, Maserati, Bentley, Lotus, Rolls Royce and Aston Martin because we use old crappy equipment and dont know what we are doing.

P.S If you have a problem in the future you can call me or my father and we can deal with it in person and 99 times out of 100 we can sort it out. Posting this on an internet board isnt really the way I would have gone about voicing displeasure but to each his own. :D

freshwaterfiend 04-23-2008 02:18 PM

Not airing anything and not trying to start anything. I requested a flat bed loader for the car and it wasn't sent. Just didn't like it being pulled away like a 83 Chevy that's all.

Pulled the post - really don't care one way or the other - car is long gone. See you on the water.

ar15meister 04-23-2008 02:49 PM

No I would not ask someone to delete a post (I am not a Vladmir Putin disciple hell bent on controlling the media:p)

As far as I am concerned anyone who knows how we operate and is in business themselves knows there is always alot more to these types of tales than what is being posted in a web forum.

The only point I was trying to make is that if you are displeased with the way we handled a particular move you should come to me direct and we can resolve the issue privately. Seeing as we do not have 'flat bed loaders' I am not sure how I could have agreed to send one and then send a pickup to 'tow' your vehicle since I do not own a tow truck. To be honest this sounds very strange to me.

If you feel we slighted you by transporting your car without damage and feel it is neccessary to voice that on the internet in a web forum thats fine by me. TFX has nothing to prove and anyone who knows us understands we always do our very best and above all else we are honest with our clients.

As far as your comment about the handling of the vehicle is concerned I can only say that TFX handles 1983 Chevy's with the same respect that we handle an Ferrari Enzo FXX. Thats how we have grown from 3 to 25 trucks in just over ten years. All of my clients are equally important straight from the little granny who ships her 1995 Buick to sarasota for the winter to the guys who own multiple Enzo's.

I do care very much about my company's reputation and my clients being treated properly so dont expect me to sit back and not respond.

Hopefully we can leave it at that.

Cheers,

Adam Horodnyk

ar15meister 04-23-2008 03:47 PM

now does anybody know a good interior guy in Ontario?

I need someone to recover the race bolster and we want to either build a back seat ourselves and have someone do the upholstery work or just pay them to build it without us being involved.

Any help is appreciated.

I tried Tack Marine in Mississauga but they dont seem interested in doing it for me. :(

dbc 04-23-2008 06:28 PM

You can try Omar Marine Sales in Barrie. Just off the 400 at Mapleview. Had him do some work a couple of years ago. Great quality and reasonable. They only do marine upholstery, biminis, etc. etc. etc.

cloke 04-23-2008 09:18 PM

Call Raymond at RR 1 705 321 8783

He'll set you in the right direction.

Tell him Alec sent you.

freshwaterfiend 04-23-2008 11:25 PM

Okay Adam,

Let's leave it at that. Enjoy the boat and glad the company is doing well. I used you guys 4 times from 99-2000, just FYI so you were probably still working some of the bugs out. I know how that goes.

Tell us more about it , engines drives etc . maybe some more pics . I'm sure you have already signed up for bonus airmiles on gas purchases . See you soon .
Paul

ar15meister 04-28-2008 11:31 AM

I will post some pics as soon as I get her tucked away in my shop in its resting place. Paul you are welcome to come by the shop for a peek anytime.

Engine is a Bischoff Racing Engines 540CI with an Edelbrock Tunnel Ram. It has twin 850 Holley's, aluminum heads, custom made crank.

It is a real nice engine and runs smooth. Only has 65 hours on the engine since it was built. Makes about 710hp (possibly more possibly less according to the builder.

It has got an Imco Extreme SC Outdrive with Marine Machine external hydraulic steering.

I also got a beautiful MYCO trailer that pulls really nice and has got hydraulic brakes and the rear section to protect the outdrive.

I bought a camera and I will post some more pics.
