I'm still about 3 or so weeks out until my boat is ready for the summer! Who's already splashed?

Should be in this Friday at Hammond. I was gonna launch last weekend, but after spending 9 hours polishing and prepping...I was reluctant to toss it out in the elements...even with a full mooring cover!

not us, we have two boats sitting in our driveway. We thought the ski boat was going in on Saturday but something to do with the transmission and a hose froze over the winter, so among the long list of spring projects Ian now has something else to fix. The big boat had to be picked up from it's winter home home in Bad Axe on Sunday, so now I have to park behind the boats in the driveway, good thing we live in Watertucky, instead of complaining the neighbors out here think it's cool:D

nmogren 05-13-2008 01:33 PM

two weekends ago...

took the 357 (formula) from racine (home port) to milwaukee and back last night....

didn't see another boat on the big lake, it was beautiful!!

Perlmudder 05-13-2008 01:38 PM

Will splash Friday if the weather holds.

sleeper_dave 05-14-2008 02:12 PM

I've been out twice so far, but I just got it cleaned up and waxed yesterday. It's still sitting in the garage waiting for decent weather. I was hoping to run it this weekend, but it's looking like the weather might not cooperate now.

michigan troll 05-14-2008 03:33 PM

I can barely see mine in the barn with everyone elses stuff in front of it. With the kids sports its tough. We have a soccer tourney in Traverse and thinking of taking it with in case they lose early. Other than that I have had 2 beers in it while looking it over. No water or anti freeze in the bilge. Thats a good sign.

bigboat28 05-14-2008 04:09 PM

Went in April 11 went to Kelly's the next day came home Sunday and haven't seen it since, next weekend taking it to Cleveland for the Chesney concert

Magic Medicine 05-14-2008 05:47 PM

Hey Donna!

You and Ian are lucky! My friend can't keep his Malibu in the driveway for more than a couple days before the neighbors call the ordinance guys on him. :( My neighborhood is like yours....everyone would think it was cool if I had the Sunny in the driveway....just no way to squeeze it in. lol

We got the boat splashed last weekend.....worked out well. For my birthday I got to take it for the first ride! :cool-smiley-026: Let me know when you two get the big boat ready for Lake Erie....looking forward to meeting you!

sommerfliesby 05-19-2008 05:53 AM

I'm in at Hammond. Probably the first go-fast out there for the year. Took a short blast on Friday...72 mph with three guys and STUFFED full of fuel...water was flat as could be. Now how about some WARM WEATHER???!!! I biked to work today and the temp was 42! I hate seeing my breath in late May!

michigan troll 05-19-2008 06:13 AM

We had frost this morning when I left for work.

teamsynergy 05-19-2008 06:54 AM

We've been in St. Joe a couple of times now... still chilly but need to satisfy the need for speed...lol. Blew an alternator Friday night coming back from south haven but other than that we ran great!

wrinkleface 05-19-2008 11:01 AM

Hope 2 get out this Holiday w/e again! :cool-smiley-027:

Got in in the local lakes on Friday - since the boat is new to me, and bigger than anything else I have ever had, it was a real thrill.

Got to work on my skills, though...launching was OK. Docking and retrieving need a little work :D :D :D But practice makes perfect. The wife and I brought her home tonight abd put her back in the driveway. Got to go to Chicago this weekend, so I won't be back on the water for two weeks...

ve3lt 05-20-2008 09:37 PM

Both mine have been in for three weeks now. Taken the 390 out many times. Might take the 260 out this weekend as I think it feels left out :(
