mb.

PS: Torch lake was PACKED all weekend. Cops (inc the State boys) were everywhere around the Torch river bridge. I can't imagine the pain trying to get back on the trailer at the end of the day - no thanks - to old for that anymore.
Heard they put the hammer down on drunk boaters try to take there boats out of the water last year after the fireworks.

Thanks! Yes, we enjoyed the airshow too. We were on Torch Lake all week and down to the sand bar off and on. We are there every year for the week of the 4th among other weekends when we can. I was all week looking for other OSO boaters but with so many boats in the water it can be tough to single out just one! If you are a regular on Torch maybe we can hook up at the sand bar possibly.

Default Torch Lake

Sound like a lot of us were all at the lake on Friday. Maybe next year pick a time slot to meet at the sand bar for a beer or two???

Is/are there any other special events going on up at Grand Traverse Bay or Torch Lake before Labor Day weekend?

Go up to Little Traverse / Lake Charlevoix for Boyne Thunder.

Wife and I are heading up tomorrow (without the boat, unfortunately) but we are planning on stopping in Bellaire on Sunday to get a case of Short's Brewery beer...and then probably stopping at The Dockside at Torch/Clam River for Lunch on the way back home. I need more photos of Torch in my scrapbook...which goes back to 1962!

Here's my brother and I in '66 - and my own kids in '99. On Clam River where it flows into Torch...

That is a really cool set of pictures. I hope your kids get the next set made too. I like how the boat house roof has rusted and the trees grew.

Great moments I bet.

Yeah - that first one was an early Polaroid (I think) and the other was a first generation digital - probably 320 x 240 resolution.

Looks like my older brother was expecting the water to rise....

We went for a rip to Power Island right after the show. Water didn't look big but it sure was sloppy and I had the boat out of the water more than in the water! LOL
