MM, I see you are coming to Torch this w/e. Where are you guys staying at? I keep my boat at Torch River Marina and will be hanging out at the sand bar on the 4th. I am thinking of going to the Bay on the 5th for the Blue Angels. I will launch in Elk Rapids, about a 12 minute drive fron the south end of Torch Lake. From Elk Rapids it is a nice cruise around Old Mission Penninsula and then down to TC. Maybe 25 MIles. My plans are open ended depending on the party after the 4th.

im really pissed and dis appointed..took my boat to a local lake for a last minute run check to make sure some maint things i did were going to be good and stepped on a freakin broken beer bottle on my driving foot... so im hopping a plane to metro and going to have be boatless...Moron kids or stupid people really piss me off !!

We are staying in some cabins south of the lake, chain of lakes campground? We are trailering to the lake. We will be up tonight, on Torch Thursday and Friday at the sand bar. Sat we are open i think, there is about 6 boats coming with us ranging from 24-32 ft so I guess we'll have to see what herd wants to do. Stop by and have a cold one with us:drink:

I am envious, Torch lake is a great spot.

We saw Skin there, 2 years ago, but so did the water boyz.
poor girls - don't know if they got a ticket, but they did get to go home. Carefull with patrols, they to like the sand bar.

MM, water patrol is great there(KNOCK ON WOOD!) If you don't do anything stupid they leave you alone. They pulled me over about 7 years ago and I totally deserved it and they were still pretty cool. They basically told me if I wanted to "hot rod" get away from the sandbar.

We've never had any problems with the patrols. Like Jrider says, but they are there. I have three little ones under 6 and they are pretty much cop repelants.:rolleyes: ( as long as they have boat coats on)

There is a pretty good chance that my cousin and I may be at Torch Lake and for the Blue Angels this weekend with our boats (32' Baja, 32' AT).

We were headed southbound on I-196 just coming up to I-94 when we thought we saw a 32' Sunsation at about 5:30pm EST that had just gotten off I-94 and onto I-196 Northbound where it begins in St. Joseph/Benton Harbor. I wonder if that was Majic Meds???

We're at Torch right now and will be in the bay for the airshow. In my opinion Torch Lake is the Carribean of the north! You don't get water much clearer than it is.

Cant make Torch, but I am all ready to go for Grand Haven and Rosey Mounds tomorrow.

Had to have a last minute Axleedictimy on the trailer. Bearing decided to fall off and take the spindle with it. But I am ready to go for sure. Maybe next year I will try to make Torch, sounds like you guys really like it up there. If your into clear water, dont forget Higgins Lake. I grew up on Houghton Lake, and Higgins is always a blast too. Sunken Island on Higgins can be a really good time.

I was there a couple weeks ago and there was definitely major shrinkage! :D But you got used to it after a few minutes.

Sorry gang--- I just got a call from Scott/"YZbert" this morning asking if I was going to the air show in TC of GT Bay and I told him I wasn't going to be there because my cousin (we were planning on trailering both of our boats up together) had an unexpected situation arise and my friend who was going to come with me had been called out on emergency work this weekend. So, although I could have went by myself I HATE boating alone anymore! At least I try to avoid it as much as possible---especially with the size of my boat and being several miles away from home.

Scott called me as the band of boats he was with (about 6) had entered GT Bay coming from Charlevoix. I really wanted to be there in the worst way this year---and what a gorgeous weekend!----but I just really hate going by myself! :o

I hope it is/was an awesome time for everyone who were able to go!

Torch ended up great as usual. Athough my blower seized during a 95 mph pass. Thanks to Leo Wiseman and crew for supplying me with a new Weind 256! If you see this the check will be in the mail this afternoon.

dang, what agreat weekend it was, flew in detroit metro thurs and headed to algonac and hooked up with some old friends, blasted Lk. St. Clair and Clinton river and frooze my ass off, headed over the chain of lakes in Pinckney and helped with the fireworkss barges, wiring and setting up and had an awsum show from a mastercraft, still up here but leaving tomorrow.. what great weather especially getting out of Fl.
