The plan is to make a nice ride to MacRay Harbor on the first day of our holidays on saturday, stay there sunday and in PIB for Mon-Thurs. Anything nicer at the mouth of lake Huron?

Be careful running the (St. Clair) river on Fridays and / or Sundays. This is the major "interstate" for large cruisers heading to and from Lake Huron on the weekends. It is very common to come across sudden 5 - 6 foot cruiser wakes anywhere along the river.

If a cruiser planes off at 20 mph, it's guaranteed that they'll only be going 19.999 mph. There's just something about this river that brings out the inconsiderate cruisers in droves.

On Fridays, all the cruisers are heading north. Sundays, they're all heading back south. It's brutal at times and not at all relaxing. It sounds crazy, but Saturday is really the only good day to move up or down the St. Clair river.

If you're looking for an alternative launch, have you called up Cedar Island Marina? I believe they're only ~20km from Leamington, not sure what their launch status is though.

EDIT: I believe Colchester (half way between Leamington and Amherstburg) has a marina with a ramp as well.

Wild Cherry your vacation plan sounds wonderful. It was great to met and chat in Abay last weekend. thanks for allowing JoAnne and I to go board and check out your beautiful new Formula.
Bridgeview is a great place to start, as would have been Sarnia Bay, Paul and his staff always a big help in getting the truck and trailer stored away safely. In Boston now but heading back to Abay for the 4th after that trying to talk Jo into going to PIB, she is still wanting to go down river to Montreal..........Cheers Mike

Hi Wild Cherry!

I was wondering how your trip was and did you get to see the Lake St. Clair Race in front of Beacon Cove Marina. Let's hear a little about your trip.
