Hey,

Not too many places, Best Western is really good with a big parking lot. Super 8/Moose Mulligans is on the water but limited facillities.
Surf the net for moorage and availability...'The Marina', Sicamous Marina, JB marine...

Good luck, hoping to be there myself about the same time.

This is for Sicamous...Salmon Arm forget it.

Thanks Need4Speed!
Got a Condo lined up @ River side but the slip that is included would require a shoe horn to fit "little Red". I have been online but can't find any where that rents a slip. I know I've seen signs about renting them near moose mulligans but no luck contacting anyone. Let me know if you have any idea?

Thanks

Hey S-F,

I'm in the same boat...pun intended!

I used to store my boat at Sicamous Marina and used a slip when there. When I moved up to the 38' they said they could handle it and were not interested; after 7 years of loyalty...also a had bad experience with them when I retrieved the 27'. Still their docks handle 40'+ house boats...call them and see if they'll take you for a few days. Still about the best docks.

My current storage place is great but land locked and I will be hunting for a slip too when my vacation time comes.

Three Bouys also claims that they have slips...but since their condo project stalled who knows...call'em.

Moose Mulligan's is just day slips for the restaurant & liquor store.

Full Speed worked out for me last time.

'The Marina' is ahead of that and most other docks are with condos or house boat rentals

What a great lake but tricky for us out-of-towners looking for transient slips. I keep telling the GF that I have the boat so she should buy the cottage Ya right!

Good luck...post what you find.

P.S. BYOB...prices of acohol is outragous in B.C. $17. for a six pack of Bud!

Great info I will check it out!
Have you ever been up seymour arm? We've done most of the lake from mara, to salmon arm and right to little shuswap river but never went up either north arm.
I'm just a little nervous about lack of people/services if I was to have a mechanical issue. Ever been up either arm? I hear it's nice with Sandy beaches but not much else.
What's your opinion?
Is it worth a trip?

Thanks
Shawn

Shawn,

Seymour Arm and Anstey Arm are the best parts of the lake if you want to get away from so many house boats and traffic. Yes, nice sandy beaches where you can use an anchor (most of the lake is too deep right upto shore). Nice secluded coves too. Seymour has a floating store with fuel but I've never been, always stopped at a really great beach just before there. No services or much population, most is crown land, but just enough other boaters if you need help. I was nervous traveling these arms but good water, no hazards (other than logs like the whole lake), worth going!
With the water so high this year the beaches/shoreline will be scarce!

Sicamous was great all around. The weather was hot and sunny with not much wind. We did go down anystey arm a couple times and really enjoyed the sandy beach at the boat in campground. We never did make it down seymor arm so I guess we will save it for next year. We did hear from a couple people that the authorities were out in full force doing inspections etc. but we didn't run into them.
The boat parking was difficult as the condo we were staying at kicked us off the dock due to a complaint. We tried a couple marinas looking for a slip but none were available. I'm not sure if we would have taken one anyways because I was being told 650 for the week plus they were going to chared 70 a day to park the trailer on top of that. We ended up pulling the boat out everynight and parking inside sicamous marina's yard for 140/week. It was a pain to make it back by 8pm when they closed up. I did find a place @ "the Narrows" that comes with a 46' slip on their dock so I'm thinking I might try staying there next year.

Hey good to hear you enjoyed the Shuswap/Anstay Arm. I am so looking forward to getting there tomorrow!
Too bad moorage is such a pain around Sicamous...so much potential from us that don't own property there. What got you kicked off the dock? noise? or party noise? lol.
Actually good to see some police out there as long as they don't power trip...I'm all legal but like the occaisional beverage, too much money tied up over do it, I'll party hard back at the dock! They need to crack down on the pwc's and idiots in rental boats that have no clue. Girl killed in Kelowna when a boat ran over her and her brother on a pwc, boater was distracted by another "riderless" pwc! Don't hassle me about an open beer can or my exhaust when that sh!t is going on.
