No one person on this board is an expert at looking at pictures to find out what went wrong. Cracks me up how guy's on web sites can look at pictures and see what happened/went wrong. My wife is good at photo hunt so I asked her what went wrong she will take a closer look at the pictures and get back with us soon....

s022mag 06-11-2012 10:20 AM

At 40-45mph I wouldn't think there would be 3 feet of boat in the water, even turning. Sounds like it was a lot less.

How can you assure that? If he knew he would'nt be there in the first place, except at idle with drives up.

HAHA that is a great game.

Agreed. I always feel safe in his boat.

all that needs to be said here is its a great thing that everyone walked away from this! just plain awful to see this happen to anyone, in any kind of a boat. with the water level being down i was noticing a couple sketchy places out there this weekend, it was my first time on st. clair this year. ive caught a couple bad waves out there but nothing compares to this. someone was looking down on you guys! good luck and hope to see you back on the water!

Well senza, when the planets align in a certain configuration and the wind is out of the east....Of course he can't assure.....it was a statement to determine abilty... It's like saying you have a buddy who always has the right answer in trivia and making the comment that he knows everything.....of course he doesn't know everthing, but he's a smart guy...
this thread should be deleted...is that possible? To many back seat drivers talking.

I know Corey really well and he is out there almost every weekend. Corey knows the water really well.

One speculation down, 49 to go. Picture on LSC.net shows drives were not tucked.

Think this is bad, check out lakestclair.net, the boat started out as a cat, then the boat stuff the bow, and got worse from there. They are the worst bunch of speculating experts anytime anything like this happens.

Off the subject:

Jay, I drove by the marina on Sunday and seen your boat was out which was nice, my plan was to borrow it for the day.... Your lucky you were out:party-smiley-004: I then would of showed the sunny guy's what's up:lolhit:

Back to as the prop turns...:lolhit:

Gary864 06-11-2012 11:28 AM

Bad results are not always driver error. Good thing nobody got hurt. None of the 6 on board required medical attention and the drver blew .00 ! ! ! So all you Monday morning drivers can leave that off your list. We all should be grateful that the only thing lost is a boat. Corey sorry for your bad luck.

JackLS1R1 06-11-2012 12:18 PM

So I am new to go fast boating..... Ive been going to the moot for a few years though. I know how shallow it is there and know water is more shallow this year.... I always hear boats that seem to be going real fast near the middle channel side....

I will admit this, I did get to the moot real early Saturday and I did a coulple runs back and forth from there to the light houses... In the bay I stayed away to boat area and the middle channel side.

Im glad no one got hurt, and I am using this as a lesson to make sure I am safe out that way.

Never understood the need to play pretend offshore racer in the Moot, the water is to calm, to thin and to crowded. Besides that everyone is looking for naked girls not pretend offshore racers.

bcoffield 06-11-2012 01:10 PM

Got this from: http://www.lakestclair.net/index.php...y/page__st__15

Ok Folks...I was a passenger on this boat. Lets stop the rumors.

•our speed when we made the turn was between 40-45 mph
•Nobody on the vessel had any alcohol in them....if we made it to the sand bar, they wouldn't be a true statement.
•we did not make a "J" turn. It was much more gradual than that.
•The captain is an experiacned boatsmen, and the event that took place was not foreseable
•Now for my recap of what happened from a view point on the boat. We were out towards the channel and started making a left turn to give us a straight shot in to dock the boat. I didn't see any abnormal waves or shallow water. In mid turn, the boat jerked once shifting me over into the person next to me, then another jerk. As soon as there was the second jerk, I felt myself skipping across the water. When I stopped, I put my feet down and I was in about 3 feet of water. We then did a quick head count and saw the boat was upside down, and facing the opposite direction. Our only guess right now is that one of the drives hit bottom, dropped the nose down and spun us out. No seriouse injuries..bumps, bruises, whip lash

What did you touch your props on?

Sunrocket24 06-11-2012 01:31 PM

Glad everyone is OK!! That sucks about the boat it looks like it was real nice. I bet you did hit a drive on the bottom, water level is down. I grounded my drive out that way my first time out this year. I was only doing about 25mph and since it was sand just I took some paint off my skeg.

39NAS-T 06-11-2012 01:40 PM

The lake is down about 18"-24" I think..... It is way Low. I narffed up my blades on NAS-T going to get a friend and or at browns, It is very shallow and going to get worse. I am glad that everyone is okay! You can always fix a boat. Everyone just needs to be safe and have fun! I also see mercury, Hering, B Blades, Hydromotive etc having a good year this year!

i am going to say this, i remember not too long ago an extremely experienced driver (just so happens WORLD CHAMPION) rolled a 32 Innovator on the Chain in IL. i remember all of the Sunsation guys running to the thread calling him everything but a white man, discrediting his driving skills, questioning his intelligence... basically without knowing any details wrote him off as an idiot rookie driver that didnt know what he was doing.
why would this thread be any different?
Interceptor - I have to agree with you, Im not sure what the point is either and when i first heard about this and that it was Cory that was the FIRST thing that came to my mind, having witnessed him do it first hand. (whether or not it happened that way people are still going to think that initially, no need to get mad about it)

A boat on plane at 50 mph will not draft 4 ft of water, the boat doesnt even draft that at idle... so it seems we are missing a piece of the puzzle. i do realize we have "first hand commentary" here, BUT lets be real with ourselves, you're going to pad the story a little to make your buddy look better.

The only thing that matters is that everyone is ok and will go on to see another day... plain and simple. But you can not expect to have your boat floating upside down in the lake and not get some razzing for it especially here on OSO. Has everyone forgotten about the 29 Outerlimits already? look at all of the boat crash experts on that thread! relax people, its JUST THE INTERNET!

Myself nor anyone else on the lake has anything to bennifit by me "pading the story a little to make your buddy look better". I've spoke the facts as I experianced them so that someone else doesn't end up in a similar situation.
It's becoming clear that out of the 64 post to this thread, yourself and The 288 Kid have some sort of ill opinion towards the owner of this boat being that the two of you are the only ones judging his character, and it just so happens you are buddies...
Everyone have a good summer and be safe.
This is my last comment to this thread.

Great, all 6 of my passengers had a great time at the Leopa run this weekend. They all told me I was the man and my boat rides like an f4. :thankyouthankyou:

AJ POWERPLAY 06-11-2012 03:32 PM

MoBurba- i said nothing bad about the boat or its owner... i stated why people would assume things due to prior instances... and re-stated what another member already said with a boat on plane drafting less than 3-4'. i have speculated nothing. i just found it ironic when one boat is rolled everyone jumps on and bashes the hell out of the guy and here its different... same hull damn near. Was just interesting to me. Lastly, i have not judged his character based on the fact that his boat is upside down at the moot, i already knew how arogant he was long before that :D. see ya smart guy.

Iwitness 06-11-2012 04:13 PM

Showing off does not equal safe driving.

Did sheriff witness the incident? Yes

Was driver ticketed for incident? Yes, reckless driving?

Nothing more to say!

MoBurba nice to see that you joined Offshore Only today also.

Well my buddy is upgrading to 1350s can your boat handle a pair of 850 or even fit them.

THE 288 KID 06-11-2012 08:39 PM

I dunno if my savings account can handle them lol. I won't be ready to do anything till winter anyhow.

SVT 06-11-2012 08:41 PM
