I know we talked a little. With the NIOC Thunder Run in Kenosha and Boyne going on you might find things a little sparse. Kenosha is a nice boat ride from Chi Town if you get bored. Water should be perfect. Look up sommerflies by for hangout spots south of Chicago.

Just east of portage is warm water beach that some hang at. Otherwise downtown in the playpen just on the north side of navy pier. There is no beach at the playpen but that is where most people raft up. Be prepared for water temps in the 60's. As stated above not a lot of power boaters this weekend with the 2 poker runs. May I suggest east Chicago Indiana as the easiest place to launch. Straight shot down I-80 to Cline ave. north. Not a stop light in your way, long piers, and 6 lanes wide.

Id put in in hammond or east Chicago if I were u. The river stinks and is very hot as there is no wind. And the lock in Indiana sucks.

31 st is a nice marina but not much to do there. Hammonds ramp is better. Hammond also has some nice beaches right next to it. And a short ride to downtown Chicago. If you are into gambling the Horseshoe casino is in Hammond Marina also. Plenty of slips available Ask to be on V dock. There will be quite a few offshore boats in Hammond this weekend
