Default Reliable boat mechanic in or around Traverse City needed

Trying to find someone that's reliable to do some maintenance/repairs on my Mercruisers. Nothing radical, basic troubleshooting and follow on repairs related to oil coolers and electrical sensors. Someone suggested John's in T.C. and he screwed me this spring and the problems still exist.

We've been happy thus far with Dry Harbour in Charlevoix. Don,in service, has been great helping us get our new-to-us 330SS in shape with trim indicators and battery charger, and he isn't afraid to tell you when you need not do a repair. He mentioned something we need to watch, but gave us a less expensive option that'll avoid a big ticket repair for several years.

If you call, tell him we sent you!

We've also dealt with Torch River Marine and were happy.

Hey Doc, how are you. We knew each other in our previous lives. I think we were in the same line of business.

Lots of issues with either gauges and/or sensors. Also a I'd like to figure out a way around my carburetor bowls evaporating out or draining back and causing long cranking if the boat sits for a few days. Mostly a bunch of stuff I've put off the past couple years and it's all catching up to me now.

Cool. He did great work for us getting the boat ready for our vacation and we're having him do some more as we speak. Maybe some of your Fountain's speed will rub off on our Formula!

Ha ! you didn't read my profile. I probably own the slowest Fountain ever built, stock 7.4L Mercs. But it's a 1996 with 800 plus hours and no engine internal failures.
