3rd Annual Traverse City Michigan Fun Run Aug 22nd & 23rd 2014!!!
Join us in beautiful Northern Michigan for our largest fun run of the year! August 22nd, 23rd and 24th 2014. To top it off the Saber Rally is combining their run making this one amazing weekend of boating!
The fun begins with a lunch run on Friday to Elk Rapids where we will dock and head into town for some food.
Saturday morning the group meets just outside and to the east of Traverse City's Elmwood township boat ramp at "Red Buoy 8" in Grand Traverse West Bay Lake Michigan.
70mph and slower boats will take off first around 11:30.
70-90mph boats will take off about 5 min after.
90+mph boats will go last.
We will head north past Power Island, Suttons Bay, and Northport stopping at the Tip of the Leelanau Peninsula to take a swim. Then Head back south for a Raft Off on the east side of Power Island! If there's not enough room there or the wind is coming from the wrong direction we will go to the back up spot in Bowers Harbor.
About a 66mile Round Trip.
Don't forget to PACK A LUNCH on Saturday.
It would be great to raft 2 rows of boats with the sterns facing each other and about a 20' Gap in between.
Clinch Marina downtown Traverse City. Best marina if overnighting on your boat and want to walk downtown.

Elmwood Township Marina and BOAT LAUNCH. Great marina to overnight but also the NICEST BOAT RAMP to launch. Trailer parking available ($10 a night or included with boat slip)

We had a lifter stick on us, bent a valve. We got it shut down and saved it from catastrophic failure, but tore both out and down and replaced lifters in both motors. Up and running again now, just some more minor gremlins to work out of her. Hopefully we will be back up there a week from now.

Clinch Marina
There are plenty of slips available first come first serve that Clinch does NOT have posted on the online registration. So don't panic! Just pull your boat up to the fuel dock and they will be glad to accommodate you. There also are wall slips. Plus the Harbor Master is willing to allow boats to raft in the larger slips IF both boats are friends, and both boats pay the full length slip price since that's the only way their computer system and the marina rules allows. There also are slips available at Elmwood and CenterPointe
