Looking forward to it! This weather is going in the opposite direction??
That run is in my wheelhouse. I put in across the channel from detroit beach. Clamdiggers is my normal after work run. Lol. I may have to get in the game.
This is one of my favorite runs! Welcome to the club 1989Mach1. Funny thing is I see my boat in some of your pictures from Thunderfest 2 years ago when we stopped at Casino!!

So you have to be a member of LEOPA to do this run?
Yes and it's not expensive to join, great group of people. Thundefest is always a well attended mid season event also.
Always enjoy watching you guys run out there. Wish my boat was fast enough to join. HA!

It's right across the channel from dbbc. We'll sort of.
It's where I put my boat in. Depending on the weekend usually there's a small to 0 wait. |
across and up correct?
From I-75 sterling is exit 15',,,also boles harbor is another good close ramp,,exit 18 off I-75

Exit 15S to Sterling: Make a left cross x-way. Take Dixie hwy up 1/2-3/4 mile. On your right.(easiest way) Bolles harbor is off exit 11, Laplaisance rd. I've stopped at bolles harbor ramp before. My buddy was practicing docking. Looks nice, never Put in there though. Sterling is 5 min from my house. As soon as you pull away from the dock at Sterling you can see the club. Don't use the first dock at Sterling. I caught a skeg on something and chunked it pretty good. Something must have moved over the winter cause I've never had a problem there before. Other than that there's like minimum of 3' of water. That's on a hard west wind day. As of yesterday the channel markers weren't in yet. (State park ones). The markers from the club to the lake are in. |
Runs this Saturday, get em ready!
I'm in...going over from Marblehead early Saturday.
Hope everyone's run was without catastrophe.
Looks like it turned into a nice day. |
What a great run!! Very happy I trailered down and attended. Erie was a bit upset on the last leg but was still a good ride.
I didn't stay for the cards or dinner, but sure it would have been great too! Well done to all involved, thank you! |
Yea, the last leg was crazy, rolling city, lol

Twin spins your tiger looked great ripping through the slop outside the Maumee. Great day, thanks for all the efforts of Joe and his crew putting this run together.

Looks like I left for work already in the digger picture. lol. The cameraman and camera lady did a fantastic job with that copter. Top notch equipment. He showed me some video of everyone leaving dbbc for Elba mar.
Typical Erie, one second its 2 footers then wait 15 minutes and it 4 footers. The most unpredictable water.
But the reward for putting up with the rough **** goes out to Tim in the Crownline and Randy in the Velocity for running the whole thing no matter how rough it got. |
I spent a lot of time on that crownline with the previous owner..that boat has seen some sh!t.........
He was hanging tough in that Crownline.
I wanted to make it to the run but had to work. Summertime in the concrete world is a ***** lol but I will for sure see all you guys at thunderfest. I will not be missing that one even if it cost me my job lol.
Cool video Pwraddr, I remember seeing the DOG HOUSE fly by me too 4x. lol
Somebody forgot to tell Joe the speed limit is 55.
