Is Lake St. Clair Water Level Way Down?

Everything I've been reading has indicated that the Great Lakes water levels are way up but when we were on St. Clair yesterday the water seemed to be very low, especially noticable around the docks at Brown's Bar. Also it was pretty scary navigating out of the middle channel with fog obscuring all of the buoys. I really need to save that route on my chartplotter!

I've noticed that the water level is up and has been, the only time I've seen it down this year is when a strong wind from the West or North West was blowing and the water level usually drops 1-2 ft..

#1 for the wind playing tricks on you. A good strong southeastern wind will damn near empty west harbor in Ohio.

Wind. I've seen both extremes this year already on erie. Over the docks on an eastern wind, or walk to the bottom of the ramp on a 2 day hard west wind.

June 4-6 the levels in St Clair were very high.. highest I've personally ever seen. Most normal beach areas are underwater and not visible. Erie has come up quite a bit too
