Things to do in Cleveland

I will be in Cleveland the first week of June. I haven't checked it out yet, but I hope to dock and stay at the marina behind the Rock and roll HOF.

I will be in town for some business and would like to take friends out for dinner or just a ride. Suggested waterfront dining (boat access)

Thanks

On the westside of Cleveland, look into Chez Francois in Vermilion, OH. Reservation recommended to get a dock or you can stop at Quaker Steak just up the river for bar food. From there you can boat to Huron or Cedar Point or go to Put In Bay / Kelleys Island / Middle Bass Island ( great marina but #3 island of choice to hang out on).
There also a handful of yacht clubs if your ILYA member, Rocky River and Lakeside are good choices.
For Eastsude we have ventured to Pickle Bills for food. Hopefully someone can chime in from that part of town
Lastly the Flats in Cleveland will have many dining choices

There's lots of decent restaurants in the warehouse district which is basically within walking distance of the hall of fame and there is a free trolley/ bus that runs around. Not much left in the flats except shooters I believe. There is a casino downtown if your into that. There is a lake freighter museum inside of a lake freighter right next to the hall of fame that's interesting. The hall itself doesn't do much for me, but I guess you almost have to check it out if you're there. Slymans deli is known for its pastrami/corned beef sandwiches, quick cab ride from the water. Edit- sorry I saw you want boat access. Can't help you there.

BCK many new restaurants opened / opening on the east bank of the flats. Shooters is going thru a remodel also. On the water near Rock Hall, flats are the best bet.

Wow. That's a change from when I was there last. The double tree right next to the stadium was my home away from home for several years. I was there for the heyday of the flats and when they all closed down, but haven't been back for a solid year now.

I go to Slyman's about once a month. Literally a pound of corned beef per sandwich. Insane stuff.

Yeah, I've spent way too much time downtown. They have a decent sized Asian neighborhood also for an old rustbelt city. Couple Korean places which is a little harder to find than other Asian styles depending on the size of the city you come from. I'd definitely check out that lake freighter museum right on the water. Paninis is another local favorite- bar type atmosphere that serves panini sandwiches. I personally don't like it, but it's popular. East 4th I believe it is that has the street blocked off and filled with restaurant patios, cool bowling alley on the corner. If you get up that way make sure you walk through the atrium/ Hyatt hotel that's right there.. All this stuff is an easy cab ride or walk from each other and the waterfront. Gilispies(sp) Map Room in the warehouse district which has run of the mill bar food but an airplane hanging from the ceiling and has all the huge timbers these places were built from exposed. If you need supplies for the boat or hotel go to constantinos market in the warehouse district. Cool little upscale convenience store built in a huge old warehouse. I wouldn't walk around slymans or the Asian area but the rest of downtown is good for walking around all night in my experience. Its a gun friendly state and the cops don't mind putting holes in people, and that was before they cleaned it up for the casino.

East bank is ALIVE and well, and growing again, tons of new food places E4 area is blowing away W6 now... I am still and probably always be a west end boater, but at least Cleveland is growing again to be fun.
