Jefferson ave east of 375 to Grosse Pointe Park is not the nicest neighborhood in the Detroit.

Im not saying the marina is bad, its the hood between Sinbads and downtown thats not nice. Thats why you might want to use Sinbads transportation into the downtown area.

If your going to walk from the water front, get as close as you can to the downtown area, like Milliken state park. the downtown area and the water front has improved drastically since the new mayor and police chief has stepped in, and they are slowly working out from there.

Default milken marina

Milliken marina is a long walk, we go to tiger games all the time, we take uber, around 6 bucks.
marina is very safe and secure.
Sinbads has a bar and a shuttle to the stadiums, hard to get a ride back, taxi back to the bar.

Walk down to the Marriott and ride the people mover.....or just stay at Greek Town Casino! Pantara is no good for staying on anyhow.

It depends on your idea of Nice.... The Restaurant is probably the best option along the Detroit River. The service is not the greatest and the clientele is mostly retired folks... The Neighborhood Sinbad's is in is not one I would walk through. The marina itself is falling apart, but if your just there for the night, it will do. I believe it is fairly safe. As I previously said It is probably the best restaurant choice on the River so I usually eat there a few times during the summer, and its usually a Friday or Saturday evening. I have been at the Miliken State Park Marina (it was the wet pit for the Detroit OPA races in 2014). And it is very nice. we walked to the bars from there and never felt unsafe. If I were staying the night, I would choose Miliken over Sinbad's 10 out of 10 times. But there is no restaurant at the Park....

Speaking of Detroit marinas, does anyone know if there are any fuel docks with 92 octane south of Detroit along the river?
