Lake Ontario Flooding Again
 

Lake Ontario is flooding for the second time in the last three years. The Lake levels have been unacceptable since the IJC implemented plan 2014. What are the other Great lakes looking like as well as Montreal and Quebec.

The west end of Lake Erie is really high as well, lots of flooding going on this year....

We're seeing lots of high water on Lake St. Clair this year. Many people in the St Clair Flats (the largest freshwater delta in the world) are experiencing water over their seawalls. I know of two boat ramps in that area where the parking lots are flooded. The Michigan DNR has had to adjust the docks at my closest boat ramp higher because of the rapid rise in water levels. We're expecting that the zones we like to anchor and play in may be too deep to walk in this year. We'll need to bring inflatables. Jobbie Nooner might be interesting considering there is no exposed sand on Gull Island right now.

Are people in Canada aware this this flooding is entirely the result of the 2014 Treaty signed by the US and Canada in 2017. It has nothing to do with nature. The treaty does not allow the lake evel to be lowered in the fall like the 1958D treaty did. The 2014 Treaty does not work and the IJC will not change it. What we are seeing is the new NORMAL unless we get the Treaty changed. The treaty can not change unless both governments (the IJC 6 members) vote on it.

Lake Michigan is significantly higher since last fall, the great lakes basin has experienced significant snowfall and that melt off is the problem. Sure you can block the out flow to preserve Lake Ontario levels and let the remaining lakes rise and flood. This similar scenario occurred in the mid 80's, it's cyclic. Wait until the huge glacial melt in the Antarctic and Greenland raise the ocean levels and the great lakes can no longer drain out to sea.

There is absolutely nothing cyclical about Lake Ontario's flooding this year, nor in 2017. It is 100% the result of the IJC changing the way they manage the lake in 2017. If you don't lower Ontario's level in the fall, it will flood 100% of the time in the spring, wiping out the US North shore, Montreal, Lake St Claire, and Quebec. . That is now the current law per treaty 2014. The US and Canada approved this when Obama on his last days in office, signed the treaty. This plan was rejected by all involved and was known it would cause flooding. Obama signed it and says GOODBYE and Good luck.

So you don't think the high water levels from ALL the great lakes upstream which also are flooding their shorelines has anything to do with it ?

Governor Cuomo just demanded action...so the water will drop immediately....

I read it's projected to drop an inch a week for the next four weeks. Mother nature could do that by less rain and evaporation.
