I just had an IMCO SC lower replaced Dec 2014 (broke lower shaft and bulged case from inside out) at Max Machine Worx in Lake Havasu, AZ and they are quite familiar with HTM hulls. I have the SS-24 with a blown 540 and the old IMCO was a -0- so I figured now was the time if I were to change, but the guys at MMWX said I had the correct lower at -0-

I have a 2000 SR with a 588 ci fuel inj supercharged with 1010 hp 1080 tq running a imco with 1.36 gears... I bought this boat new from Steve with a different motor and a bravo drive. When switching to the imco I tried going with a -2 lower it didn't work even with a herring 5 blade it blew out.. Then I added a 1 inch spacer to be a -1 and it was better but not great... Ended up back at standard length drive that worked the best for me.... What I learned from Steve and others was that the X dimension is not the same on all of these boats .... Obviously mine was already high... Others had success with a shorter lower..
