I broke the lower's a few times, since the lower gears were Bravo XR's. No problem with the uppers. Blew a tranny once. Never a engine problem.

Gear ratio was 1:34. I ended up with two sets of props. Both Hydromotives. P5X 30 pitch for quick out of the hole and mid range, which I used for pulling our skier in the Catalina Ski Race. For Poker Runs I used P5 32 pitch, lab finished, way faster top end, which slipped a little while coming on plane as the bow dropped. Previously I had experimented with several sets of Bravo 1 four blades, which I did not like at all. Also tried for awhile a set of the Merc Maximus 5 blades 30 pitch, lab finished, great out of the hole and mid range cruising, but several MPH's slower on the top end compared to the Hydromotive P5's. The two different sets of Hydromotive 5 blades that I had were the best of both worlds. My boat felt the most responsive and also handled the best with the Hydromotives. Check out the bow lift I had in the picture below before we dropped the flag as the pace boat for group 3 at last years Desert Storm poker run Lake Havasu, then I blew everyone away to the first card stop! I had the lab finished P5 32's on.

Hope this helps, good luck in dialing in your boat,

BeetleJuice
