Not familiar, but she is/will be ready for rebuilds REAL soon showing almost 800 hrs.

Honestly seems a little steep considering the year and hours.......

OL40SVX 11-06-2009 09:15 PM

That was my buddies boat for quite a few year. He sold it probably 3 years ago. I know when he sold it it had 600hrs on it I believe. I will tell u when he owned it it was in better shape than most boats with half the hours! He kept it very clean.

bert4332 11-06-2009 09:51 PM

Well just on the looks of the pics, and barring a survey, comparisons of similiar year and model, the price isn't bad at all. I can have those motors refreshed for 3k max each. I have not seen a similiar year and model for under 95k, but who knows the drives could be shot or something major with the engines. It does look like it was taken care of cosmetically and "usually" translates into mechanically also.

That seems to be a good price for that boat. The rear hatch pad usually has Hustler on it.The gap between the carpet and the rear seat, most Ive seen has no gap.shrank, new cut short, or broad was moved back??? new gages, means new hour meters:eek:,hard to tell the dash a panel and vents etc use to look carbon fiber, looks painted black?? Shore power is a plus, looks like dry tail pipes with the rings?? new ladder, prop hub rusted, salt water??? Props have the white crust look.Trailer doesn't have the swing gate.Tail pipe rindgcut for steering fitting,Its has a vhf,The dash switches been swapped out ,they have the lights in them, thats cool,Trailer looks newer.need a center cap on the spare tire.

Need a better engine pick with the hatch all the way up and straight down were the sea strainers would be .A real pick of the drives from from the side,

The trim tab cable were it goes thru the transom there is a black nut that hold sthe gasket thingy, it had hull cleaner acid on it,its bleached white, mine was the same way,

The head rest Hustler doesent seem bleached, I cleaned my so much ,mine faded had to get new ones.

When I was shopping for a Hustler the 415 was a lot cheaper, the sales person said a lot of buyers were getting them and swapping them out for bigger power,I ended up with one with 500efis with 46 hours, figured I would have a good platform with the 500's which I did,ran the boat 3 years did nothing to it,then put Whipples on for the next 3 ,2008 it spent 9 1/2 months in a paint shop:mad:,so 2010 ill be back running the same package.

no trailer, used one would be around,6500.
I hope the took the cockpit cover off to take picks?deck looks repainted, no graffix, new style shifter, throttles.transom looks worn, rusted tail pipes, prop hubs, missing black cap on trim ram,tab nuts bleached out like other one,Is that a gage above the thermostat???fuel?I thinking theses pictures are hiding the condition, need better picks.you can ck the hours as long as the computer hasn't been reprogrammed

keep shopping

I came to the same conclusion on the price of the trailer. I've seen some used 500efis for about $10k so I would be swapping out the motors anyway. That would put my bid around $45k, still up in the air about this one, I don't looking around for a trailer, PIA.

32storm 11-08-2009 06:52 PM

I haven't seen many Slingshots with the black motor 502's. Excellent motors, but seems a little light for a Slingshot.

i have a 1998 slingshot listed on this site with 500hps and 250 blower shop superchargers on a alum. trailer runs perfect 92mph 250 hours.. make a offer..send me a email

86RedRocket 11-19-2009 08:48 AM

Any ideas on what the mph would be on that boat with those particular engines? Had a buddy w/a 50' Hustler with triple 500 efi's that would run 80-81 on gps. They appear to make efficient hulls judging on that compared to some other boats I've been in from time to time. I'm thinking it would still be a very solid low 70's mph boat w/the 415hp 502's.

Becarefull of the guy that will sell ya a steped hull trailer that really fits something else.Cig,Fountain etc.My Myco is stamped for a 388 Hustler and it could use some reenginering!!! the bunks could of fit it alot better.

bert4332 11-19-2009 03:05 PM

Not going that route, I would have a used trailer then Hustler send me the measurements for the add on step supports.

thanx

1999 slingshot @ National Liquidators & 1998 on Ebay

Hey Guy's,Had a surveyor take pic's off the one at National it's rough!!!Needs alot of paint and gelcoat repair,Interior in Cuddy has a bunch of isuues along with major motor and drive upgrading or rebuilds??The 1998 is the Boat that was for sale about 4 years ago with the bulkhead damage on both sides in front of the engines where the boat got out of control in a high speed turn.Thats why the pad is different because it messed it up I believe. The work was not done at Hustler but Joe can tell you about it with serial#.Just wanted everybody to know because sometimes people fail to pass this info on to potentail buyers??Good luck..

The thing is that i just bought that one..

How much did you get it for??It has alot of stress cracks around the Windshield,Transom,There are some really big busted spots on the transom corners where it looks like some forks on a lift hit while lifting it.The paint on the sides is all gashed up and will have to be totally redone.Hope you got it for under $ 40,000 or you will have a bunch in it time you get done with this project!!!!!

mwdill 12-27-2009 09:59 AM

i would say right at 80

frogger1403 12-27-2009 02:29 PM

You won't see 80. a Cheetah on 496s runs 84, so no way a slingshot runs 80.

I just bye a couple of Used -05 496HOs and have allredy sold the org 502EFIs in the boat.

What speed can i expect from it and what props 26-28 bravo 4-blades???
Can i turn the props inward rotation and is it some gain in speed or is it like that oem on the slingshot?

The 502efi engines that im taking out of the boat vs 496 HOs 425hp ?? Difference in performance??

/ Patrik

Why get rid of 502 EFI's for 496HO's? The 502EFI-black motors are extremely reliable stock, and great base to build from.

The engines had over 800hrs on them. I would have swapped them out too.

Yea, with 800 hours time for a change, or at the very least a refresh.

Like to have the same superchargers you have..

How hard is it to get parts over there? keep looking in the swapshop section for a pair, you can build some decent power with the 2.3 also.new Whipple kits are $$$$

also plan on drive parts with Whipples

Its the 2,3 im looking after, and if you hear something just pm me.

start a thread in the wanted section "looking for Whipple 2.3 kits" something like that.

Ill keep a look out for something.goodluck
Rob

try emailing Whipple see if they have a used pair , or try the blower shop in Ca ,I hear they come across used stuff and might beable to put something together.I think the guys name is Robert.

I would also look at a roots style and no innercooler no cutting hatch, I bet ya could make 700+ safe, By looking at your area I'm guessing your water is cool all the time?? roots cheaper and easier to get ,more use parts out there.

Make sure the intake water passages are not corroded out.

Strip Poker 388 06-10-2010 10:31 AM
