Rob,
On the mirror, You could try polished alum. Maybe clear coat it. But then you like to polish things. When you are done with yours, come on out to the west coast. You can burn out that extra energy on my boat. Seriously, oustanding! Terry The alum would never keep the shine, Also it would never be like a real mirror.Ive never thried clear but allways heard it doesent work, A peice of .060 polished stainless would work,My firewall in the Chevelle has a sheet over it,thinking it would be real expensive for the boat, you would have to buy 2 sheets to make 2 mirrors. I am thinking about 3M super 2 sided tape ,it seems real strong!!! not shure about how it would hold in the heat of the summer, thats what i used on the side mirrors, I tried pulling on it pretty hard ,it felt like it would break the mirror before releasing. there has to be abetter way Thanks Guys on the comps> rob:drink: |

On polishing the lower stock merc lower unit you used what grit sand paper. Strip the paint, then? 600 and buff? I have done some polished brackets. Sanded for a while with 600 then polished. They came out pretty nice.
