How much headroom in a 388?
 

I've been looking for some HP boats with descent headroom, around 6', and was told that Sonics, Donzi, and BT's have good headroom but I thought I also heard Hustler. Any truth to that. So a nice one on line.

that boat has 2000 hrs on it and had $70,000 in bottom repairs after it was run up on some rocks on lake erie.

A 388 wont have near the head room that a 386 Sonic, a 38 Donzi ZX or a Black Thunder. It will be faster with the same power but not the room or ammenities. Dont let Artie talk you into such crazyness..lol

its 5 something,its not poker run edition being it has a cabin.

That particular boat does have the same name as one that stays over at PIB. Last time I saw it, it looked like it's had the top half repainted so the name is a little different as far as font/paint from what it was in the past. And it probably does have 2000+ hours on it, it used to get used a lot, and still does.

Yes thats the boat at PIB. Owner took it to florida for the winter. I think he said its on its 3rd or 4th set of motors and 3rd set of drives. He took the head and a/c out and I think they said they are in his garage. He bought the boat brand new.

If your looking for head room in a performance boat make sure you look at 37 and 42 outerlimits

If it is 5 ft, it is 5 exactly. A five foot something girl can stand maybe at the first step in, after that not much head room. The v-berth bed is good for storage, my guess is less than 2 ft in there.

There is an ultra clean 37 OL for sale in Buffalo NY, huge cabin and super fast and priced in the same arena as a used 388. Owner (Kevin) is as anal as they come. He is good friends with oso member "88bullet"

The 388 is pretty short inside. The Older 40's had lots of headroom if I recall.
