Thought you Hustler fans should know.
Look at page 74 of July 2003 powerboat magazine. Notice the March 1985 cover issue its a Hustler 32 le. It ran 103mph with 526 big blocks pushing 630 hp the boat weighed 7500 lbs. Arneson surface drives. Here is a picture of the stern of the 1985 Hustler 32le |

That is one bad xss MACHINE!!! I wonder what size the props are "cleavers" whatsize and pitch any ideas? Darin

Nice, do you have any more pics?:)
|
prop size
The props pictured are 17x30 rollas.
The powerboat magazine test in 1985 refers to 17 1/2 x 28 rollas. although the prop shaft center to center distance is only 18 inches. Not much room for a lazy trim cylinder. |

Duplicate set of gauges
very cool:cool: ALL boats should have this feature.:D even though its best to be the Driver!!!!;)
Thanks CaveMan;) Darin |
Nice ride. Although 32's were never produced in big numbers, it's surprising how many from mid-80's that surface that are set up with the surface drives.

Interesting. I noticed the two empty bolt hole on the top fin. Did they originally have a plate there? My kaama drives have the plate. I have heard it will run faster without the plate. I haven't tried it yet.

The upper cavatation plate is not needed.
It will not make a difference in speed. That portion of the drive is not in the water. The late model Arneson ASD8's dont even have the upper skeg;) |
