Arnesons on 388's

I noticed last year at the Miami show a few Arneson applications. They looked awesome, I like the simplicity and durability of the design, and want to know the characteristics of getting on plane as well as docking. Im looking at another 4300 Nortech or possibly a 42 Outerlimits with a triple application. Thanks Jeff

Jeff I dont think you will like them , ya think your #5 props w/ boxes where bad

When I was at Lake Cumberland looking at 388 Hustler they had one with the arnison and 1000hp merc in it. He was going to replug the transom and put bravos and smaller engines in so it would sale . Randy called it a morphidite

I would not do it.

I have no issue's with the #5's and boxes other than I wish they were 6's. They work great and Im use to the props sticking out past the swim platform now. I just want to go to the next level in power and drives. The reason might call it a morphidite is there obviously isn't to many Arnesons on v-bottom applications, more so on cats. What I am finding out is if the boat was designed with surface drives in mind, 2 speed tranny, then it might be a superior trouble free application. I honestly have a problem with spending 37k for a #6, Im just trying not to go back to black, thinking outside the box. Jeff

The purple and yellow 388 at Miami in 2002 was in my opinion one of the best set up boats around and I heard ran 100+

I recently purchased a 2004 slingshot with cobra 750's and surface drives. I love the set up. It takes a little to plane off but it rides better than the Bravo 1. It is a bullet proof set up.
