Just tape a "highlighted" note on coupon when you send in.
Works for me. My 20 yr loan is down to 8yrs left and I've only made 24 payments.

Sure enough, I just called National City and my extra payments have not been applied directly to prinicpal. I have to send the extra to a different address completely. What a bunch of A$$ HOLES. I'm with you Dean, I have never heard of such a thing and they can kiss my a$$ in the future.

check this out, I called national city at 1800-738-3888 today [1/17/07] talked to Daarina`about my 1099 for taxes for 2006 . Also asked her about payments, she told me they started putting extra money sent in[over your payment amount] to prinicpal, I asked her twice about this and she told me the same thing both times, so did they have a change of heart?? or is she lost. lol.

I pay mine online (national city) always pay more, wonder how that works?

I have all my stuff there and havent had a problem with them but this is stupid

the only bank I hate is fifth third they are nekcuf idiots, they kept telling me I didnt have insurance on my truck ( same agent since I was 16) I had my agent personally call them, so I thought it was taken care of...nope a week later I got a new payment book with $1100 a month payments because they have added their own insurance. I start looking closer at the paperwork from the bank and it is saying that there is no insurance on my 93 escort that I owe 35k on, Ive never owned a escort. It still took 3 more weeks and getting a guy I know at a 5/3 branch involved, they couldnt put 2 and 2 together that there is no way I could owe $35k on a 93 escort (that didnt exsist) and had to pull the original contract from the main office. Quickley dumped them after that and never again

idiots

I have had a few loans with them over the years, no problems till I tried to pay off my last loan early. It took them a week to apply a wire transfer. They told me it was a waiting period to make sure that the money cleared. If I wanted to wait that long I could have sent them a check. Wires clear the same day.

It was not clearly spelled out IN THEIR PAPERWORK, and I called them up and tried EVERYTHING to get it resolved, and I was told it was my fault for not calling and verifing the SEPERATE principle only mailing address at the beginning of the loan. In all the years that I've have had consumer loans, I NEVER HAD TO SEND PRINCIPLE ONLY PAYMENTS to a different state/city.

Live and learn, we will paying off this loan this spring when we get our tax return back!! We just closed our MMA in Harbor Federal Savings, because they were acquired by National City!
Dean

I payed of my Tiger in two years, the first time I sent extra dollars I looked on my next months statement and it said I did not owe another payment for another year. I called and they pointed out to me on the back of the statement was directions on where to send principle only payments.
