Progressive writing in FLfor >30' again?

I have been looking at the Baja 35OL for about 6 months. Progressive online would display they are not insuring greater than 30'. Just tried today and it goes through with a qoute. 35OK as long as less than 940HP. so a 35OL with 525's is a nogo with them but the 496HO seems to go through.

Yes, Progressive will now insure V-Bottom boats in Florida up to 35 feet with maximum 500 HP per engine and maximum value of $175,000. As you found out, the maximum HP is specific to each boat, so all boats do not qualify for 500 HP. Additionally, Progressive will allow HP ratings at the prop, so Merc 525's will qualify for the program (depending on the specific boat). If you need any further help, please give me a buzz!

Thanks!

I just went from $4,325 with Ace to $1,450/yr with Progressive plus I lost the 10% windstorm deductible plus I went to an agreed value policy from a cash value policy.:party-smiley-048:

It's easy to discount-price insurance for Progressive. They save all that $$ by not paying claims.

I know this will be a news flash for many- Theres STILL no free lunch. If marine insurance was so lucrative and if all the underwriters in the market had it wrong, dozens of insurers would be rushing to fill the vacuum. Progressive doesn't know more than all the other insurers nor do their actuaries and underwriters have some lock on this sliver of the P&C market.

I think Progressive is great! Just yesterday they paidout on a 5 figures claim on my 16 year old boat. They paid everything except my deductable. The adjuster dealt dirctly with my mechanic and I recieved a phone call after everytime they talked. I didn't try to hide anything or slip something thru and they took very good care of me.

I have had 2 claims with Progressive in the past 3 years for over 80K....no problems with the claims or getting paid. My renewal also went down 150.00. i also did not hide any thing when i took the policy out. Both time I was not at fault.

When did they stop? I've been with them for many years.
